General NRL 2018 Round 25 - General Discussion

That edge is pretty make shift- u would usally have chambers and vunivalu there.
Panthers have some strike tho for sure. Theres no easy games coming up that's for sure.
Wouldn't want to be playing us either.
I don't think anybody wants to play us with our away record. We won't be playing at any home grounds either. Allianz is not Penrith or Wollongong.

I just love how finals games go up a notch or 5, and we havnt seen the Warriors in that zone for 6 years. Looking forward to seeing our players take it up a level.

That is the million dollar question. I will stick my neck out on this. This is not a Warriors side of old, although some of them still have Warrioritis (dropping intensity). I think they can win at least one game, and maybe two, but not all the way.

One of the givens of September the last few years. The Sydney sides complaining about losing home advantage.

I can partly understand against other Sydney sides as it means their opposition will have more fans as well. The NRL argue the opposition deserve to see their side play finals as well.

Sydney sides then argue about that the out of town sides typically play at their home ground. Brisbane need to play at Suncorp, Cowboys aren't moving from Townsville to Brisbane to far away. Moving Newcastle or Canberra also doesn't make sense. Ok Storm or Warriors could move. Warriors to Eden Park maybe, Syndey clubs wouldn't even no the ground exists if we didn't have the 9s here.

Rugby league and rational arguments especially out of Sydney. I'm more like to win lotto tonight.

your comments have been pretty uniform all year. I remember that after you went to a training session you came back and posted that this was not last years team. So far you've been right. Now they need to be the team that destroys others in finals, not the team that finds the whole experience overwhelming and pulls their head in. Now they need to be cocky. Now they need to dominate. Now they need to Win

I’d say Dragons would pick Allianz which is as near a home ground to them and Panthers would pick ANZ which is closer to them but still annoying enough for them to get to that they wouldn’t have as many fans at the game

I'd say any of the finals teams would like a shot at the Warriors & Dragons given a choice. We have the softest underbellies and most perceived weaknesses. I predicted a top 4 finish preseason, looks like we've missed out on a home semi but that doesnt worry me, just gives us more adversity to triumph over. Pretty sure I'm still wasted from last night's celebrations though.

Nah they wont want the Warriors, too hard to predict who you are actually playing, if they show up they kill you off quite comfortably.
It's basically the best spine in the comp behind the light weight forwards aye....so if the forwards play larger than life like Paasi did last night, like the whole pack did against the rabbits, chooks, Dragons one time, you're screwed against the Warriors.

I recon the sudden death thing will stave off any complacency, these fookers want to be better...that much is true this year

Dont worry about what you cant control. The team won. We will know by the end of the weekend.

They are in the 8 pressure is natural but they need to enjoy it. This club has taken giant strides this year and it is all bonus from here.

I think....
If dragons and broncos win we finish 8th and play Penrith in Sydney.
If they both lose we finish 6th and get the dragons at home (dream scenario).
If the broncos win (by more than 1 point) and dragons lose we finish 7th and play broncos in Brisbane.
If broncos lose and dragons win it's 7th and the dragons in Sydney.
That's disregarding any blow outs which could alter the for and against...
So there u have it- clear as mud :)

Only just tuned in. This should be Newcastle's old boys day seeing as its their last home game?

They usually do well on old boys day. Go the Knights.:)

Will still be surprised if Manly could get over Brisbane. Damn Panthers.

God, PLEASE let the ladder stay this way. The Dragons look like literal wooden spoon contenders. If we turn up with any sort of fire in our eyes, home or away, we could absolutely hammer these cu**s. Of course, they could lift with the finals, but even then, their confidence is beyond shot, let alone coming over to NZ and facing 20-40 thousand of us screaming for their blood (depending on where the game is played - I believe it has to be Eden Park)

Dragons need to win otherwise we are almost guaranteed playing the Broncos at Suncorp and that would be easily the toughest scenario for week 1 of the finals. They are a very different side from when we last played them immediately after Origin.

I wouldn't say that. Eagles have been giant killers through most of the season. I think that if the Eagles can fire up, they are a very real chance of beating the Broncos - particularly if the Broncos turn up complacent in any way. There is a very good footy team in there, it's just been poisoned by off field shit.
