Tuivasa-Sheck playing 50th game for club
Author Richard Becht warriors.kiwi
Captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck takes some of the best form of his career into his 50th appearance for the Vodafone Warriors in Sunday’s vital 23rd-round NRL encounter with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs (2.00pm kick-off local time; 4.00pm NZT).

The 25-year-old fullback leads an unchanged side into the clash against the Bulldogs in the quest for a third straight victory following wins over St George Illawarra (18-12) and Newcastle (20-4).

He ran a staggering 338 metres against the Knights last Friday night, following on from 239 against the Dragons, 160 against Gold Coast and 229 against the Storm. Former Vodafone Warriors captain Steve Price twice topped 300 metres in a game in 2007.

In 19 matches this season Tuivasa-Sheck has totalled almost 3500 metres averaging more than 183 a game and has made a total of 100 tackle breaks.

On a night when the Vodafone Warriors made more than 2000 metres overall, Tuivasa-Sheck combined with the rest of the back five for total of almost 900 metres.

On Sunday he’ll lead the Vodafone Warriors in search of their 14th win of the season to match their best record in the last 15 years (they had a total of 14 regular season wins in 2011 and 2010 while the best returns in the club’s history have been 17 wins in 2002 and 15 in 2003).

The Canterbury-Bankstown contest also gives the Vodafone Warriors the opportunity to extend their club record for away wins in one season to nine.

The first four players named on the interchange also remains unchanged with utility Jazz Tevaga joined by second rower Leivaha Pulu, prop Bunty Afoa and utility back Peta Hiku.

The only clash of the season against the Bulldogs will be just the second against the club in Sydney since 2010.

The Vodafone Warriors sit seventh on the ladder on 28 points with a 13-8 record while the Bulldogs are 14thon 14 points, the same total as Parramatta in 15th and the North Queensland Cowboys in 16th.

In 36 meetings, the Vodafone Warriors have 14 wins and the Bulldogs 20 with two draws.

The Vodafone Warriors have won two of the last three contests but the Bulldogs have a 6-4 edge in the last 10 encounters and a 10-5 advantage (with two draws) in clashes at home.

Harris back, Pulu cleared. Usual team Beale and Kata centres. Best news is Maloney is out until week one of the finals, which makes our chances the following week dramatically increase dramatically. Warriors actually favs 2 weeks out, id expect odds to tighten with aussie respect towards warriors consistency (and fair enough), but i think aside from the loss to them, our last 5 weeks have gone rather well, could be 4-1 if we had just a bit more on offense to offer against the storm, which is where we need to start getting creative. we cant match the heavy weights for points scored in a year. Hiring Latrell Mitchell and Euan Aitken would certainly make a big difference for our wingers and overall offense. In reality land, somebody like Will Chambers to go with Beale would be nice, and start coaching Kata the hooker trade. He knows how to hold onto the ball and run, now just to teach him when to pass lol. and his defense in middle of the park would be awesome. hes probably pd for pd one of the strongest in the nrl, certainly in the trunk and legs.

Hiku and Jazz is just a waste of 2 ICs to me. Lawton can do both of their jobs and another forward. Im shocked with the intensity and lack of mistakes Lawton has made hes not pushing for regular IC role. Heck he could fill in for a forward at a pinch. Jazz yes makes lots of tackles. but if we fill our squad with players with minimal offensive intensity we will just go back to the old warriors, I think Ah Mau signing will become one of those players and wasnt a fan.

Im saying I hope he doesnt fade into being the type of warriors we have just shed, matulino, gubb etc. he will be 29. whenever i say something like this it shocks people, but i dont see why it isnt a concern. i said the same of Foran and got ranted at how hes NZs top 6 blah blah. Ah Mau is having a good season at a club hes been at for a while. what will he be like when hes entering the far end of his career, learning a new culture and training. my point is its a big risk imo.

Every signing would be a potential risk, at least ah mau has a good platform to go into next season from a pre season under corvo hopefully, and a good leadership group.

Props peak at 29.

Ah Mau has spent a lot of his career coming off the bench, as such he is not even the eighty minute Gallen type. Lower engine miles.

He is estimated to be on a five hundred K contract...very cheap for a decent Prop.

Not a lot to worry about.

Am I missing something re: Harris back?
If you asked Dragons fans about Aitken second half of the season they’re calling him a turnstile and would probably give him to us for free they’ve turned on him that much

I'd love to visit this reality land of yours- maybe I could catch Lino collecting his golden boot while I'm there :)

He'll fine bro we need another Paasi type player who pushes up and has an offload, he is also a current test player. You dont get picked by an Ozzie coach if your no good.
IMO he's NO risk at all.

Easy brother all the Warriors squad bashing the shit out of him until understands that being a pussy on D is not helpful for your team.
i know, i know. I think if he doesnt get another shot in the next few weeks he will probably go cold and not make it back even in the playoffs, you would have to say he might look for a starting gig somewhere else. I would like to see him back with Tohu Harris helping out. I thought he did alot of good for fusitua.
