Don't know if this is the forum but I find it quite off-putting the amount of conflict of interest there is in NRL commentary, particularly at Fox. Greg Alexander is a board member at the Panthers and yet he is allowed to commentate on fox. Not to mention the Queensland trio (Corey Parker, Justin Hodges and Kevin Walters), all of whom are current or former coaching staff members at the Broncos. Let's also not forget how they used Luke Lewis in the commentary team against us at Mt Smart. Makes watching NRL somewhat cringeworthy at times on Fox. Even the journos are blinded by their own personal biases (Paul Crawley is the resident Bennett apologiser on NRL 360). They don't even pretend to hide their biases.

That footage of all of them riding the panthers against the Titans was pretty sickening actually. So much for being unbiased

sucks being a dragons fan last two years, awesome starts then drop nuts in last 2 months, dont feel for them at all but if lara pitt needs consoling I am here for her.

Not sure if the Eels were that flash. We'd already given the Drags a bashing, they lose McInnes for 10 then Widdop dislocates his shoulder. Think Bully and Shaun Johnson or Green.

Widdop especially has a huge influence on that team. That might be it for them now and leave the four altogether.

Good point - i remember when you got the channel 9 commentary team with old bug eye gould when he was at the panthers and commentating - he was such a tool then and a bigger one now - thank god for some of fox commentators, i actually quite like Matt Nable (think thats his name) and Vossy.

I can’t stand Matt navel he never remembers any of the players names and when he does he won’t stop yelling them out. Needs to and learn a bit more about the game before he’s the main commentator

Really? I don't mind him purely because he doesn't seem to favour a team (that i've noticed) and i can't stand Ennis/Alexander(how screechy is his voice)/Hodges/Walters/Halligan to name but a few - i can take the not knowing players if thats the hardship - but we all entitled to our opinions aye.

I like Gasnier as a commentator but I’m pretty sure they’re gonna turn him into one of them. But yeah just on that Titans they said something along the lines of if The Titans won it won’t be remembered as that it’ll be remembered as how the Panthers lost.

So who do we support Raiders or Tigers? Tigers loss would mean that its mathematically impossible for us to miss out on finals but we don't want to play the Raiders in the final week on a red hot run.

He can’t favour a team because he doesn’t know any of the players lol. But nah I know what you mean he purely commentates on the play and that’s it.

We complain our bench use every week but Ricky Stuart is probably the worst coach at utilising his massive bench. I think we'd kill for that monster bench yet Ricky keeps half of them on their asses for most of the game. Really silly in this game where they have such a power advantage over the Tigers.

You hear some of the commentators say some coaches are to set in how they are going to use their bench. Stuart is exhibit A as far as that is concerned. He usually brings back his big guns when the result has been determined, usually with them losing 2 competition points.

Bizarro world if they do as they are usually the anti panthers.

All week I was wanting the Tigers to lose so our finals spot could be rapt up. Having the pressure still on might not be a bad thing. Mind you that will be more on the Broncos now and possibly the Sharks if they lose the next game against the Storm.

The Raiders are insane. They are a team of individuals rather than a team that plays anything constructive. I almost get the feeling they live for their tackle break stat, rather than put the opposition away through grind. Poorly coached.
