That's the way I see it. Stephen Kearney is backing his horse. Kearney clearly see's something in the Hiku that he believes will eventually pay dividends. Much in the same way Ivan Cleary backed Manu Vatuvei in 2007 after his absolute shocker against the Eels. Trust is such a huge element in any team type environment.

TBH I'm about miffed by Hiku's selection but a large part of it may have been Ken Maumalo being injured. Losing two starting edge players may have been too much of a gamble for Mooks.

Anthony Gelling isn't exactly a defensive rock and the David Fusitua/Blake Ayshford hasn't been tested all season.

I honestly hope Hiku has a blinder. For his, Kearneys and us miserable cu**s sake...

Those stats are disgraceful.

That ain’t a horse he’s backing

It’s a fucking DONKEY!

I think you are bang on. I think that is exactly what he is there for. He is sent out as a role model. Not the best, not the most talented, but the hardest slogger. Im sure I recall mention from Kearney in preseason of the leadership and commitment of Jazz. I assume Kearney knows he will never die wondering. Pound for pound he is one of the most commited players. One of Wayne Bennetts players you need to make room for. I dont know what position is his ideal, but I believe Kearney sends him out to lift the intensity of everyone else. My guess is he is one of many players in our squad who offers something at lock. But unfortunarely, we have many players who seem to best fill the lock roll is some way, and loss something in another position. Jazz, Adam Blair, Simon, even Lisone all have individual skills best suited to that spot. We cant put them all there. Kearney has decided that Jazz will give his all no matter where he puts him.

God knows what in the actual fuck he sees in Hiku.

Does anyone know if he still trains at hooker ? Its my guess SK has him working
At hooker at trainings .If he could get his passes right .Him an Roach an Laughton
Will be fine ,Behind a dominant forward pack like ours will be .
We have got three good players out at the moment
Next season if players are fit we will have some
Decisions to make about who to leave out .Its a good position to
Be in ..

I think jazz at hooker is a conversation

I am not supporting jazz at prop, and that is where he has been effectively playing, because he is poor from a ball security perspective and vital turnovers occur when he carries the ball.

The Broncos can't start Kotoni Staggs at centre because he isn't a Top 30 player and therefore can only start for the Broncos in special circumstances such as State of Origin.

The NRL just keeps getting weirder and weirder with their rules. Where do they come up with this shit?

Who is Patrick Mago ??? How did he fit in to the top 30.

Went looking for info on him.
Patrick Mago is a New Zealand-born Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League. Primarily a Prop or lock, he previously played for the North Queensland Cowboys. Wikipedia

Born: 4 December 1994 (age 23 years)

Still never heard of him at broncos before.

He's the number 14 that's been playing for the Broncos the past month or so.

The team this week is what it is...... what worrys me the most is the refs...
They cost us 2pts v sharks with THAT!..forward pass.... then next week ping us for 2 non existant forward passes the we could of scored. And we all saw the results of those reffing blunders...
We could easily be on 26pts and not talking like this... which leads me to think that even with Heart attack Hiku in the team .. we aren't all that bad..

Go Worryerz....

Indeed and now with Jamie Roberts apparently not playing and a second rower lining up in his place, Hiku, should be able to hold his end up. With the operative word being should. And if Hiku isn't a sieve and we get even stevens refereeing then as much as I didn't believe it earlier in the week, we are a chance.

I think we will know how the reffing is going to go by the end of the fourth set. For the last ten games it seems we have given away a penalty for holding the guy down in the tackle very early in the game. In all those occassions it didn't look like we did much wrong.

Go forth young warriors. As much as I have complained about team selections, I am behind you 100%.

And did you see last night how the Panthers have changed their style this week to getting off their line too fast. They got away with murder the week before. Just goes to show what can change momentum of a game.

Raiders thrash Cowboys...i think the last game of season Warriors vs Raiders is going really hurt a lot of forum members on here. I think the end of season slide has begun and tomorrow will b 3 on the trot.

Too much negativity on this forum. Not surprising after years of disappointment but we're still 10/16, much better than in previous years. We were robbed against the sharks and just had a shocker against the Panthers because of complacency. Win tomorrow and we're back in the ball game at tied 4th. We always bounce back from shockers. I trust the boys.
