Kearney clearly see's something in the Hiku that he believes will eventually pay dividends. Much in the same way Ivan Cleary backed Manu Vatuvei in 2007 after his absolute shocker against the Eels. Trust is such a huge element in any team type environment.
TBH I'm about miffed by Hiku's selection but a large part of it may have been Ken Maumalo being injured. Losing two starting edge players may have been too much of a gamble for Mooks.
Anthony Gelling isn't exactly a defensive rock and the David Fusitua/Blake Ayshford hasn't been tested all season.
I honestly hope Hiku has a blinder. For his, Kearneys and us miserable cu**s sake...

I actually think he's quite modest and humble when he does media. People just seem to think he's a bumbling tool.
