Yeh true about Tohu Harris possibly making the shift. Just looking at players coming back and what not it looks like the more solid option to put Beale into centre where we don’t lose anything at all really as far as Quality is concerned. Shifting Tohu Harris seems a little more disruptive, something we don’t really need following this weekends effort
Yeah, it would be short-sighted given Tohu Harris's been so integral at 12, even if it means Hiku moving to 6.

Lino laid an egg last night. If he is injured then that may be serrendipitous So it may be helpful to look at another option for the halves for the rest of the season. Be that Hiku or Chanel Harris-Tavita - https://www.nswrl.com.au/players/in...aland-warriors-nsw-cup/chanel-harris-tavita2/

I would go Chanel Harris-Tavita as he looks to have more of a kicking game. All Hiku would offer is taking the line on himself.

That said I havn't seen much of Chanel Harris-Tavita so he may be a year away. I noticed a few people said the kicking from the halves was off in our last ISP game too.

So all the fans should really watch the Warriors presser to see Kearney's comments...

some key takeouts

1) Kearney said a "couple" of players from ISP were under consideration.
2) He then elaborated Beale was one of those but added that he may need another week to recover from his leg injury.
3) He doesn't want to make changes but will act on Tuesday after consulting with the coaches.
4) Blamed the loss primarily on losing the physicality contest just like we did against the Broncos.
5) Unhappy with the late hit on blake green.

Dylan Napa has been charged with dangerous contact (which could result in a $1500 fine... woopdy doo!) and a careless high tackle (which will not result in a ban if he pleads guilty).

Bunty Afoa and Jazz Tevaga will also avoid suspensions despite receiving dangerous contact charges.

Worries me a bit "he doesn't want to make changes" - was he not watching the game last nite - its really very easy Steve, DON'T PICK LISONE.

I’m surprised we haven’t seen more of Sao. He was a nightmare to watch last season but I thought he offered us a bit of quality early in the season. Didn’t think he did anything worthy of being dropped entirely from the 17, felt like he did plenty to hold a spot somewhere in that 17

Chanel Harris-Tavita is a long way from first grade and is 80kg wringing wet. Let's not ruin his future by throwing him in at the deep end.

As much as I like the concept of an indigenous round, I do agree with Bruce's comments that it's not great for our team standing around pre kick off. I'd rather see the team go straight from the sheds to kick off with no Hakas or fanfare.
As much as it doesn't suit us the indigenous round ceremonies are something we can't avoid. If we don't host it we will be the visiting team. The Eels were the away team this week so I suspect next week they'll have a home round indigenous round. These rounds tend to double up with home and away games.

Hopefully the feeling of the loss overcomes any issues waiting around before the game starts.

Does anyone have an update on Lino and the ankle injury he picked up?

What are people’s thoughts on what the plan will be if Lino is rubbed out of next weeks game and spending time with Shaun Johnson in the casualty ward?

bring in Hayse Perham, similar to Shaun Johnson, a hot stepper

Lino didnt make the most of his time on the field last night!

leave Tohu Harris where he is

7 wins from 10 people, lets not panic

we are playing the bottom of the table eels after all

That is cool that Jazz got in amongst it. He plays like a big man despite being small. He wins some brownie with me for ending up on report.

Perhaps the good thing to come out of the game was the push and shove at the end. It shows other teams we will stand up for ourselves.

I thought the roosters forwards in particular were up for the fight last night, probably because of how we dominated them in Sydney. We just kept making errors in our own half which killed us.

Also our offloading short passing forward play has worked well all season but is unsuited to a wet Auckland night which is a worry heading in to winter.

On to the Eels game and hopefully we can bounce back with a win.

There are many sub plots that stand out as to why we lost
Some poor reffing and poor ball security in our own end were factors...but I guess when it is said and done Dylan Napa and to a lesser extent JWH won this match for their team. The lion hearted Paasi was up for the fight and wanted to meet fire with fire. I wonder if we would have won if he hadn't have left the field for stitches.
Paasi is the leader of this pack now after last night. Not Afoa, nor Blair, not Gavet, and not Mannering, or even Harris.
Kearney as I have said before has strengths and weaknesses, and while his weakness is match tactics compared to say a Wayne Bennett his unique talent is knowing who is a good player. I don't think he was ever swayed by Cooper Lino's performances, and what I am building up to saying is that some of his signings in the off season have been genius level. One of those selections was Paasi.

I think our forwards can man up from here and respond to other teams bringing the noise especially if Gavet also responds like he can. Gavet strangely two games across started running diagonally towards the centres instead of the forwards, I am wondering if he is carrying a bad bruise or something and can't handle the contact at the minute. Right now a superficial observation is that he has lost his bottle and we badly need him at his best.

The reason for this post is that one of you posted that the forwards win rugby league matches and the backs only decide by how much.
Most of our options for reinforcements right now are in the centres. But Kearney also needs to address the forwards. Maybe really scratching his head and coming up with one more solid player from ISP and dropping the error prone Lisone will be enough. I hope so.

Edit - for those of you are who saying we are 7 and 3 and we are doing well. I disagree that all is rosy. A trend is starting. Although we went 5-0 in our first 5 games we caught some teams napping. Now every team is up for us and since they started trying harder we are only sporting a 2 win and 3 loss record (in our last 5 games).

Haven’t seen much of Hayse. Reckon he’s ready for the jump to first grade?? Still only quite young isn’t he?

In Linos defence, I’m not sure any half could have done a great deal behind a forward pack that got bashed

The whakatau was a process that could have been done at Skycity between teams.

Like has been said. Too long.
Wow.
1. Wero
2. Karanga
3. Korero
4. Kinaki
5. Exchange of taonga.

Then need to warm up again.

It wasn't a poorly done process. It was just too fucking long.
Totally agree.
