im always amazed by how much hate people on here have for other teams. Personally i dont really care who wins but would prefer the storm, cause im a local. But most importantly i want to watch a really good game by the two best teams in the comp.

They aren't my team and I'm extremely biased.

Plus Cam Smith has Richie McCaw qualities which mean I'd love that balding old git if he wore a Warriors uniform, but he doesn't so he can get the hate treatment. (He's the best and I get that.)

I don't like the Roosters either and they played an amazing defence against Souffs. Fucken latte sipping summama biscuits.

Slater did a shoulder charge. His right arm was there but not in a wrapping motion as still images portray.

I rest my case.

When NAS comes on ,Cronk will be in for a whole world of hurt (if he plays)Storm by 20

The problem's not so much the tackle but the weighting of points for that particular grade of shoulder charge imo.

From what I understand there's about 4 grades of shoulder charge, grade 1 being the least where there's no contact with the head which is what Billy is up for holds a 210 point penalty, and I believe 200 points is an automatic standown., if found guilty.

I can get that they want to eliminate even the risk of injury from a shoulder gone wrong by having a blanket no shoulder charge at all rule, but like in Billy's tackle where there's no contact with the head, nobody was hurt, charge it as a grade1 sure, but lower the points weighted so nobody misses a game for it.....and we're not in this ridiculous situation where the NRL probably want to let him off, and they have to come up with some farcical way to do it.

Easy fix lower the points weighted for grade 1. Surely an on field penalty/ bin/ penalty try even would be sufficient enough punishment.

A bit of a cock up from the NRL that their top two prosecutors are unavailable and their third choice is on his first case. Or is it a bit of a convenient coincidence to get a future immortal off?

Most likely the usual bad management not having their prosecutors around for the biggest week of the season.

8.05pm: Extensive deliberations going on amongst the judiciary panel members. Almost 15 minutes of deliberation.

8pm: It's been 10 minutes of deliberation. We're still waiting.

My thinking when watching it was he didn't hit him in the head. Ok it was a shoulder charge, penalise him and we move on.

I wasn't aware of the rules in regards to grading of a shoulder charge and like you mention we are now in a situation where it seems they want him to get off but want a way to do it and save face a bit.

The problem in the NRL is we have rules but struggle to enforce them when they are called upon like things like the squads of 30. Clubs get injuries and want to name a player but get told they can't they then complain when they get the rules enforced upon them.

They are milking this thing quite well. NRL 360 will probably pull a big rating.

There is a point where it is too much.

If it was most other players the judicial panels gavel would of fell by now.

.

I think their on a hiding to nothing whatever the outcome is now.

He gets off the masses are going to scream favouritism, they suspend him everyone will point to other examples and highlight the inconsistencies.

Either way the NRLs credibility takes a hit.

Politis needs to get SBW on the blower and added as a late inclusion for Sunday...the shoulder charge is bacccck.

That pretty much does it for me. Slater getting off is just a crock of shit. The NRL is so corrupt. Turning a blind eye to the Roorters salary sombrero and the Storm players for years being protected species.

Won't be watching this GF at all...

Like that was unexpected.

Precedent's set now boys......u see that winger down the sideline, drop your shoulder and take the fucker out!
you mean just like they have been doing for the last 12 months? the only reason that was called in the first place was because it was under changed rules for the semi finals. If they would just pick one set of rules and stick with them from the start of the season to the end, this wouldnt even be an issue.
