I was going to post an image of a Python squeezing the life out of a poor and helpless rat as a representation of tonights game, but it required too much effort and I'm still fucked off.

It was always going to be a difficult task coming out in the second half and, already having made 60 more tackles than Penrith, defend five early sets back to back. As much as Corvo is a god, his magic can't prepare any team for that kind of onslaught.

We fucked it for ourselves tonight. When I say "we", I mean Blair (pushed pass in the first half), Bully (kick out on the restart, then the 4th tackle kick that went right down the throat of the Penrith player) and Kata (back to back play the bl infringements and shooting out of the defensive line).

All three players should be made to swim back to NZ.

Shaun Johnson needs to do more to justify his 1m paycheck. 1m players go to another level playing in the finals. Shaun Johnson went completely Mia. Maloney made Shaun Johnson his bitch.

Hope Kearney and Co cull some players over the off season and Corvo gets stuck into them.

Gutted. Just gutted.

I’m going to look on the positive side here as the negativeness will just eat me up if I let it in too much.

Fuck that was disappointing BUT this year has restored my faith in this team and this club. Terrible game aside, there are good things happening within this squad and team, and next year we will be a force. Our young shavers will have learnt a lot from tonight and I take solace in Maumalo’s words afterwards. Said he was nervous but showed huge disappointment, that will only fuel the fire for the offseason and next year.

I also remember Corvo saying it will be year 2 where you really start seeing and reaping the rewards of the fitness and effort being out in during the off season.

To wrap up, fuck yeah I’m disappointed, really gutted. But we will be there next year and will be prepared to rattle some cages, I truly believe it. Enjoy the off season fellas

A moment in the game when the Warriors should have taken ownership and dominated for the next 65 odd mins. Nobody on field saw it, created appropriately, 12-2. Next 65 odd mins struggle, lost, Panthers shape, warriors capitulation, loss.

Sorry Warriors. Every breath I hate you, then the last - I love you.

I hate next year. As long as I don't die before, I'll be there every game.

That was hard to watch that last 50 mins but I can’t wait till next when they will have another pre season under Corvo!

Also Kata needs to go he can’t draw and pass he’s a one trick pony. Beales no better! That showed tonight. Hikus a good centre he’s a fill in for full back though. Never mind if it’s not meant to be it’s not meant to be.

The good: showing fighting spirit until the very end. Making the finals the first time in long time. There can only be 1 premiership winner so there'll be 6 other clubs whos fans will have their hearts broken in the next 4 weeks. We should be back next year and it usually takes a few years being in the finals to have a realistic chance of winning it.

The bad: telling the media our game plan was to 'keep it simple'. If the players kept calm and followed this game plan 2 things wouldn't have happened. 1. adam blair pushing that pass. 2. ken big body maumalo passing to Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and making him injured lol.

The ugly. when will Kata ever learn? can this young man be saved? How long do we wait until we get a center to get excited about (no offence to Hiku & Beale).

Thank goodness the nerves and stress are over.

Slagged off Shaun Johnson Mannering and Kata in the game day thread, feeling quite small after reading all the sensible posts in the post match.

We knew we didnt have the depth to afford losing a star player, it has troubled us all season.

At least no one will be laughing at us game one 2019.

Good effort Warriors.

Think the biggest mistake was bringing Jazz on before Bunty or Papailli. even though we we 12-2 up, the panthers forwards were making ours look ordinary. We needed more go forward players instead of a small man that tries to create. In saying that, Jazz was fucking beast in the middle half of the game, his d was second to none, and offered more on attack than our halves

I’m adamant we need more beef on the bench next year

Two big props and two utilities- one forward and a back

Finals footy is a different beast. Our small pack will get smashed

Short kickoffs and all that fancy shit with Jazz on the bench and low IQ players will not cut it to win in the finals

I hope Kearney realises this.

Looks guys, I was handling this all pretty admirably, then I made the mistake to finish watching the movie Armageddon (ticking off movies I've missed the past few decades)... and then here I go... total mess.

Am I crying because harry died?

Or because the warriors have prime real estate on my heart??

Go the Mighty Vodafone Warriors

Congrats on your season

The 40/20 was the critical moment of the game. And we were so unlucky with it because roger batted it back in play but then it spun out.

Ken's wing defence let in two tries. His tires have been falling off for a while.

Other key things they did

1) Neutralise our back three from doing big hit ups to take the toll off our forwards. Big Ken didn't seem to make any successful hit ups tonight
2) Stop us from short drop kicks beneath the posts.

Completely agree. We started well but stupid mistakes let us down. WTF was Bully doing with those kicks & Kata needs to be dropped.
