Considering the shit that the storm get away with - that was a pretty damned solid effort.

I'm looking forward to this roosters game.

Couple of observations straight after the game.

Effort - There was a lot of it. We are definitely a better team than we were last year and I think we will get into the 8 (just). Always bloody tough to win in Melbourne but they stood up.

Foran - Noticeably limping early on. Had a couple of great reads on D, but didnt fire on attack too much (hammie giving him trouble?).

Hoff - Playing his best footie in a Warriors jersey. A true professional.

Shaun Johnson - Played with a lot of heart and guts today. Couple of small errors in judgement, but was the better half today.

Ken - Big Ken. Not sure what to do with him, he really is Manu 2.0. It does beg the question, why dont we have conventional wingers.

Kata - Hooked or hurt???

MOM - Hard to split Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Gavet again. Both were awesome once again. We need to get Gavet a contract extension.

Refs - Pretty rubbish across the board. Some really odd calls both ways. Foot on the line...bloody close, well close enough for a check by the bunker! But shit the Storm get away with so much rubbish (leg pull on Shaun Johnson...play on???) like lying all over the ruck and having bodies all through the defensive line. Ugh.

Overall...disappointed we didnt get the 2pts. We could have. But I am seeing this team grow and this was definitely a huge improvement on the last couple of seasons.

Strong effort.

Ironically if Kata was on the field Storm might not have won.

Maumalo is still mud.

Thompson at Centre is dirt.

TBH I feel better about this team at 3-5 then I did when we were 3-3. We just have to beat the Roosters. Close enough isn't good enough next week. 3-6 will be hard to claw back from even if it is 3 impressive losses.

Good game. Didn't get many calls go our way, and Kata getting injured was a big turning point with Thompson getting roasted when we had the momentum going our way.

As usual my concerns haven't changed. Forward pack outgunned, proper wingers showing how advantageous proper wingers are etc.

Boys can hold their heads up high. They really gave it their all and did themselves proud. Silly errors at crucial times are killing us. The difference in our defence is just amazing. You can tell that Kearneys system is starting to click with the team.

Despite the loss Im happy with the effort. Truth be told I was expecting a massacre.

Did Ligi Sao even come on? Should have had Bunty on for real impact.

Something needs to be done about the amount of bullshit calls the refs give us. No one was offside when they penalised us before the break. Getting really sick of it...

I hope like hell Lillyman is one of the player told he isn't needed next year. Did nothing but miss tackles at one point!!! Flopping at the feet and not getting up to marker left us exposed for that last try.

Please dear god buy someone like NAS...he was massive!!!

We didn't shit the bed in the second half so that's an improvement. BUT we sure run out of gas about the 60 minute mark. Line speed stopped, forwards stopped going forward. Foran MIA in latter parts of the second half.

Would be nice to have a winger (yes Maumalo I mean you) with some brains and speed!!!

Sao came on during the HT break when Kata didn't come back out. 15min stint at most.

Fuckin refs.
Honestly thought we were the better team tonight. Feel sorry for them.

No problems with how the team played.
Refs were shit.
Melbourne are cheating wankers on defence and offence.
Few calls went out way and we win.
Effort was definitely there.

Only real problem apart from what I listed is the decisions to take the 2 both times.
Never been a fan when there is a lot of time on the clock.
Puts pressure on you to get out of your half and takes away the opportunity to build pressure and get repeat sets and or 6 points.
With the game the way it is, you might not get more than 2 opportunities in a half for a full set attacking the line. Poor calls both times.
Didn't mind the one out running but thought we look much more aggressive and made more meters going wide early.

Agreed, I want Lillyman gone, he weakens us so much. Time to give Vete, Tofofoa Sipley or Matae a chance in that jersey. We need size and agro, these boys have it over Lillyman.
