Team list Tuesday is a bit boring but at least theres a bit of stability. Good to see Mooks sticking to his guns. Thought Id post the whole piece from the club as its a special milestone for Blake Ayshford...

Blake Ayshford will mark his 29th birthday with his 150th career appearance while prop James Gavet has been named in the starting line-up for the Vodafone Warriors’ seventh-round NRL encounter with the Raiders at GIO Stadium in Canberra on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off local time; 7.30pm NZT).

Ayshford and Gavet are set for their fourth consecutive outings since coming into the side for the first time in the club’s fourth-round clash against St George Illawarra on March 26.

Ayshford was called up in dramatic circumstances, brought in at the last-minute when Kieran Foran was ruled out in the warm-up for the match against the Dragons. The ex-Wests Tigers and Cronulla centre has since featured in the back-to-back wins over Gold Coast and Parramatta to take his career tally to 149 games.

He was near ever-present last season scoring eight tries in 22 games in what was his busiest NRL campaign since 2012.

“Blake has done exceptionally well to reach 150 appearances,” said Vodafone Warriors head coach Stephen Kearney.

“When you look at the rest of our outside backs he’s not the same sort of athlete. Ken (Maumalo) and David (Fusitua) are big men, Sol (Kata) is really powerful and Roger (Tuivasa-Sheck) has so much speed. Aysh is a lot different but he’s reliable and does a tremendous job for us.

“It’s great to see him getting to this mark.”

Ayshford contributed to an outstanding all-round display from the back five who all ran the ball more than 100 metres last Sunday. He made 110 metres from 12 carries as well as providing a try assist for the second of Bodene Thompson’s two tries plus two line breaks.

Gavet (28), who made 10 appearances in his first NRL campaign with the club last year, earned his call-up after impressive form for the club’s Intrust Super Premiership side in the first three weeks this season.

After being used off the interchange against the Dragons, he was initially named on the bench but started against both the Titans and the Eels. He topped 100 metres in each of the three games including 107 hard-earned metres from 11 powerful carries while adding 21 tackles in the win over Parramatta, a performance which resulted in him being named the team’s player of the day.

Kearney has chosen an unchanged 21-man squad for the trip to GIO Stadium, one of the most difficult venues in the club’s history.

The Vodafone Warriors had won just once in there in 11 attempts before having back-to-back successes in 2014 and 2015. In last year’s GIO Stadium contest, they came back stunningly with a last-second David Fusitua try and Issac Luke’s conversion from the touchline taking the match into golden point extra time only for the Raiders to win it 26-22 with a Jarrod Croker try.

In 36 matches between the two sides overall, the Raiders have a narrow 19-17 edge.

As long as they don't fall into the do it for Blake trap.

These dudes are the shitest sports group at doing it for whomever (except Jesus when they score trys.....word up....Jesus wants you to tackle).

i know we are giving the impression of improving, but the Raiders look too strong for us. i watched them om the weekend and they looked very very good.

I can only see a loss here, but hope we put in the effort and do ourselves justice.

I see a loss but hoping for two results. Keep them under 20 would be a massive achievement even more than a win. And if we get about 3 tries I'll be happy. 20-18 raiders

Not necessarily. It all depends on the battle in the middle. I'm quietly confident that our spine will go up another level. If they've got their game plan right for this one and we work to our strengths, starve their edges this could be ours.

The next two weeks are going to be testing. The best attacking team in the comp followed by the best defensive team.

The raiders do have their moments on defence though and we only lost in golden point in Canberra last time. Looking forward to this one.

Looking at their form versus ours, only the best teams have beaten them (Cows Broncos Sharks).

Both of our teams have beaten the Titans and the Eels to get to where we are, both sides have had a gimme (They got the hapless Tigers we got the Knights).

We are going head to head for a top eight spot.

The Raiders are a genuine top eight side.

We need to be. Realistically we should have been a genuine top eight threat from round one.

The fates have proved that Foran and a couple of Props aiming up was the answer.

I hope we can continue to have these halves of football where the opposition struggle to score, extending that phenomena will see us go close to wining this thing,

All eyes on how many points we concede.

Not really convinced Sao brings anything from the bench. Would rather have seen Afoa rotated back in.

I'm also confused, they've managed to get a custom number 8 jersery made to fit Gavet, but couldn't be bothered to sort out Ayshford/Fusitua?

So it looks like Tui has completely fallen out the rotation.

Cant help but feel alittle sorry for the guy. Goes from playing all over the place to starting in a position he wasnt suppose to, played utter crap in that position then gets dropped completely.

looks like hes turning into another Carlos Daley.

Needs to stop listening to the hype and get to work before its too late.

Lets be honest though ... he hasn't really looked good in first grade since his first couple of games. I mean yeah, he's been shunted around, but you can't forgive such a long string of non-performances. His utter lack of starch in D is what most put me off. Didn't seem at all interested in tackling anybody

dont feel sorry for him at all. He had his opportunity and then some. For some players they get that shot and take it and run with it. Others look at it, get an ego and let it all slide away.
At the moment he comes under potential.

the difference between potential and reality
A kid comes home from school with a writing assignment. He asks his father for help. “Dad, can you tell me the difference between potential and reality?” His father looks up, thoughtfully, and then says, “I’ll display it to you. Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Next, ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Then go ask your brother if he would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Then come back and tell me what you’ve learned.”
The kid is puzzled, but he decides to see if he can figure out what his father means. He asks his mother, “Mom, if someone gave you a million dollars would you sleep with Brad Pitt?” His mother looks around slyly, and then with a little smile on her face says, “Don’t tell your father, but yes, I would.” Then he goes to his sisters room and asks her, “Sis, if someone gave you a million dollars, would you sleep with Brad Pitt?” His sister looks up and says, “Omigod! Definitely!” Then he goes to his brothers room and asks him, “Hey bro, if someone gave you a million dollars, would you sleep with Brad Pitt?” His brother thinks about it and says, “For a million bucks, I suppose I would”.
The kid goes back to his father and says, “Dad, I think I’ve figured it out. Potentially, we are sitting on three millions bucks, but in reality, we are living with two sluts and a fag.”

play possession and position footy

complete our sets, good last tackle option and play at the right end and side of the field...away from Leilua and Rapana.. lol !!

and that will go along way to getting the 2 points

I feel so dirty putting $$$ on the raiders this weekend. But I honestly cant see us walking away with 2 points.

To me, this game is all about protecting our for/against record.

We're getting there. Just not there yet.

Get yourself some free money and $$$ the raiders.

We've gotta be on to win this one.
Really need our back 5 to rip in as this has been very effective the last couple weeks, limit the raiders metres good kick and chase...
We (maybe) got dis.

It's interesting that our last two games have been against the titans and eels and theirs against the eels and titans.
Being played in Canberra it's a game the raiders really should win.
There's some errors in that raiders side tho and their defense is a bit suss.
If we complete our sets I give us a real chance.
