Foran made quite a difference, but this was a home game against an already injury depleted side, that was down to a one man bench, and they still made bloody hard work of it. It was nothing to crow about at all and anybody who does needs to take a reality check.
we had a two man bench. no ata and bodene didnt come back which i assume is injury related

Oh shit, but otherwise they were at full strength, the Titans were way down on front line players. That was a shite performance that I am not getting carried away with except for the obvious difference Foran made. The Titans are now one place below us and we are thirteenth, woopty doo. Our defence is still shite, Ken Maumolo is definitely not a winger, actually he isn't even a back. He was put in space against a forward and got hauled in. In the past Manu was always good for at least a try down the left, not, this team.

We might actually be competitive if we can eradicate the 15 minutes we concede 3 tries every game.

I've wanted Foran at the Warriors more than any other player since 2011 and tonight (early days I know) he showed why. Plays direct and others follow, combines well with Shaun Johnson and there will be space created for others. Talked with the team at every breakdown and you can tell how much the rest of the team respect him. Would love to have him signed on and captain in 2018 myself.

Looking forward to sending the Hoff off to retirement next year, he has been a defensive liability due to tired old legs that can't quite move quick enough to cover. It has been hurting us for the last 12 months now.

Kata needs a week in reserve grade, if for nothing else than to give someone else one all or nothing chance to play for his spot and also to give him a break.

Kata needs a break? He's been a Kiwi for a whole month and a bit and he needs a break at his age? So what does Mannering need, a year's sabbatical? Until anyone reaches half of Simon's consecutive game record I can't sympathise I'm afraid. These young fullas need concrete pills. Not rests. They've been resting for the past 3 seasons!

I agree with the rest though. We've got the framework for a good side. Foran on the left, Shaun Johnson on the right looks mouth-watering. Shaun Johnson looks like he is unburdened. Like he feels free. And Roger Tuivasa-Sheck' lightning speed and pass to the wing could be a phenomenal weapon if we get a decent winger to keep up with him. Even Hoffman looks dangerous running on to a Foran pass. It's like Hoffman's found someone he can regularly play off. It was akin to a Storm move with Proctor or Harris. And I've noticed he's been trying it since he came to the club. I can only remember it working one other time.

My worry tonight is that the Tits were well short of troops, and we just managed to finish it. We lacked a ruthless edge which Foran can bring. Next week I'd play Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad on the right wing and Manu on the left if he is available. I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I reckon this team is made to attack, not to hesitate and wait to defend. We are not going to improve our defence enough to win games that way. We need to ride this new confidence Foran brings. It's mostly psychological but lets ride it. I think the number one thing the guys need atm is more confidence, because I reckon they've been abandoning the gameplan because of lack of confidence in their processes, rather than looking at why the process didn't work. I.e. what they themselves did wrong in execution.

Now they'll believe again in their systems and think that Foran is the one that made it work, when really it was just that they needed to have faith in the gameplan and play as a team. Our chase was way better and look-we won. Sometimes you can feel like you're miles off the pace when all you really need to do is tweak something you're not aware of.

I reckon Manu and Lolo on the left edge. Give it a go. I bet Manu will lift. They will gain momentum from being allowed to freely attack each week and the little things will start to come right by themselves I reckon. I'm feeling a bit like 2011. Like we're going to gel at some point and become unstoppable.

I still think Kata, Maumalo and Lolohea have inadequacies, as well as Lisone and Vete and Gubb. But I think the spine has the right chemistry from what I've seen, to make the weaker players grow up in the space of a season simply by creating momentum and conifidence. And I'm not blown away by today's effort-Foran was rusty IMO. But I saw little things which indicated how important this was to the team and their morale.

titans arent as bad as you are making them out. they got a great coach and players that dig in. they have beaten the eels and came close to knocking off the cowboys last week. in fact they look like a team that play hard for each other. our defence isnt great but its a work in progress. first half we had some pretty b ad reads from players that lead to tries. its clear a few players either are lazy and have that mentality of someone else will cover them or they are clueless and never learned how to defend due to having exceptional skills on attack

for all the slack Maumolo cops i rate him. the kid plays with heart and gives it his best.

Positives

Gavet - discipline aside, he's our one prop who aims to run through defenders. Our first half raids not coincidentally came off the back of him.
The spine - excellent performance. That was a top performance from Issac Luke. Give him some space to move and he showed real quality. Kieran Foran, well that was one of the great club debuts. Congratulations to him.
The second half - we were clinical. Went forward first and played with intensity and patience. If we keep doing that our spine will hurt a lot of teams. Got to commend Sam Lisone, had an awful first half and he really rebounded hard when the chips were down.
Gubb / doesn't get much credit, but I thought he showed a lot of effort.

Negatives

Sam Lisone is an appalling defender.
Solomone Kata is horribly out of form. Is fitness an issue?
Fusitua gave away the dumbest penalty in the first half on tackle four, next set they got a try.
Ayshford. Not first grade standard. Defensively abysmal tonight

Problem

Turning sideways when we engage the defensive line. I've noticed this for a couple of years. It really slows us down. And that needs to stop if we want to give Issac Luke time and space.

Second half showed the bar that must be set. Gotta be happy after a win, and with some impressive performances from our spine, but the Tits were definitely weakened in the second half. We need to perform like that against a side who has no excuses.

I agree BUT.........he is not a winger. I would love to see him in the second row and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad on the wing.

Sam Lisone is an appalling defender.
He got caught out twice because Luke wasn't in position. I blame Luke
Solomone Kata is horribly out of form. Is fitness an issue?
He has a narrow skill range, once the other sides have worked him out he is just another hit up forward. That is what happens when you get rugby union players and expect them to know about league.
Ayshford. Not first grade standard. Defensively abysmal tonight
I have defended him before, and been criticised for it, but tonight he was pure shite. Quite sad because I like the kid.
Fusitua gave away the dumbest penalty in the first half on tackle four, next set they got a try.
He did, but we only won by one try, and his was brilliant.
The second half - we were clinical. Went forward first and played with intensity and patience. If we keep doing that our spine will hurt a lot of teams. Got to commend
We did, apparently SK did not rant at half time, just told them to keep to their "systems". They sound like under 7s, but it worked.

Totally agree
