Was interesting hearing a few players (and stace) talking about trusting the process, sticking to process, i really think we saw that in the 2nd half.

Prior to that the players honestly looked like they didn't know what the f##k to do at times.

i may be talking bollocks but it looked to me like the team realised that if they stick to "the process" (i.e a gameplan/structure/strategy) they go a long way to winning or giving themselves every chance to at least compete.

Yeah I noticed that comment about the processes too, and nearly had a coronary. How many generations of players have we gone through over the years in an attempt to find guys who can both remember the plans and carry them out? And now we've got players saying "Hey, wait a moment, if we stick to our processes..."

Reminds me of a story about Rene Ranger at training for Northland, practicing a draw and pass backline move - the idea was that Ranger would create a huge gap by drawing defenders, and flick a pass off to a group of forwards to rumble the ball up and set up the next phase. It took him a while to get the hang of it, because as he was doing the move he'd usually spot half a gap and try to run through it, or 'fooled' the defenders with a dummy pass.

You can imagine Warriors coaches over the years... "Right, so the workaround with Hoff and Foz, short ball to you, Solomone, then you draw the defenders and flick the pass to Ken Doll, got it?" Practice the move, high fives and bottom pats all round, cos that's a guaranteed try. Out on the field, Foran flicks a nice wee pass to Kata, loads of space to draw the last defenders, now just have to set Ken up HOLY FUCK I'M NEAR THE TRYLINE IMMA GONE SMASH IT! Oh damn, they had cover defence."

A number of times when we've been down on points we've watched Kata go over and just dot the ball down when the opportunity's been there to bring it in closer to the posts, he's not thinking about the game situation so what is he thinking, post try celebration or is he simply not thinking at all. He's been berated by his teammates for doing it in the past yet it's something he continues to do.

It just adds to what we've been saying, all this talk centered around Kata I'm half expecting a Herald article this week.

Lisone has all the skills, he just needs to control himself a bit more. Chasing that player out of marker and leaving that big gap is a rookie mistake that him and Vete used to do a lot more, hopefully thats the last we see of it.

Gavet was immense, every tackle had venom, it was the best we have controlled the ruck all season by a mile and he and Bully were the reason, it lifted the other boys as well.

Enough has been said about the spine.

What on earth were Ayshford and Kata doing? That was the worst example of centres not passing the ball I have ever seen. Conservatively two tries a piece butchered by not passing. Also, that first missed tackle from Ayshford, whom I did want in first grade, is an auto-demotion in my opinion, not NRL level play.

Good win but more importantly nice to see Foran play so well. He straightens up the attached and appears to be an excellent communicator and organiser.

Still work to do, however positive signs.

Hope against Parramatta there is a much bigger crowd. The warriors should be able to attract 15-16k every home game.

I watched a replay of mainly the 2nd half. If Ken had tried to gas the 2nd rower and got caught and thrown over the sideline a lot of hate would have flowed through the keyboards. He was on defence, it was first tackle. I find it hard to criticise him. In saying that he needs to relax a bit and back himself on attack.

It would be difficult to play outside Kata, imagine trying to run onto the ball outside someone who doesn't straighten the line and never feeds early. Kata needs to learn drawing and passing does not require contact. It is just getting the opposition to hesitate to give your Winger a bit of room. It is better not to contact as you can back up. My suggestion would be to run him video of great Centres, League and Union. Have people like Dean Bell, Bruce Robertson, and Tana Umaga to talk him through it.

Poor one on one misses by Lisone and Ayshford, but both worked their socks off in the 2nd half. Once again Gubb gets shit, but he went OK, it is a good Prop rotation with plenty of firepower still to come. Previously mentioned but I think Luke needs a break during games. Can they build on that, I see no reason why not, but have said that before.

Finally, do we have anything to worry about with Fusitua not having a HIA.?

I thought Gubb went well.
Made the advantage line , put in a lot more work than previous weeks.
Every team has that player that is unsung or not really acknowledged because of the more spectacular players in the squad.
Just hope the Titans game was not a one off and starts a chain of consistency for himself.
He is doing something right to be selected week in week out.

Anyone notice when Foran scored it wasn't Shaun Johnson he thanked for delivering the last pass it was Gavet he made a point of thanking for shaping up to run a tough decoy line back against the grain which opened up the hole in the defensive line that he ran through to score, that move had his fingerprints all over it.

He challenges the big men around him to work hard on attack, Justin Horo use to cop gob fulls of abuse from him at Manly when he'd get it wrong, he'll make your ears burn and he'll hold you to account.

Goes to show that stats don't necessarily show the full picture because you can't quantify how well he both bent the line and his play the ball speed which was how we won that game. The entire game plan is resultant on the forwards giving punch and a super quick play the ball. The Dragons have realised that and they have a far better forward pack so therefore are able to execute exceptionally well. As much as I hate to say it, this makes Lisone so important because of the energy he plays with.

Teams that play a faster tempo with forwards cycling the ball at speed are going to be the ones winning this year.

just to further illustrate your point the first 3 kick returns were all run by Gavet resulting in being awarded 2 penalties and a quick play the ball on the back great yards. Getting over the advatage line and putting the opposition on the back foot is key and those players are doing it

17,000 turned up to Mt Smart last year for our match against South Sydney in Round 23 following two prior wins.

He would have fit in well if the rumours about the Warriors being interested in him.

We had a guy in our team where we would run drills and if you were the decoy and tried to make it look real by putting your hands out or calling for it he'd pass you the ball. The coach would stop yell that the ball went to the wrong person, repeat the drill put your hands out as the decoy get the ball passed to you. Repeat a few more times.
