Told ya Kearney wouldn't change anything, he is known to be stubborn as a mule as sees making changes as admitting he was wrong which he is never prepared to do
TBH its a tough spot for him to be in being a new coach. Persist and build trust with the players, and giving them one more (after previous) chances, or be ruthless in team selections and picking solely on form. Management in all sports of careers say they pick on form and performance, but just like everything else, the NRL is just the same. Obviously the fans are crying out for ruthlessness when it comes to team selection, but putting yourself in Kearney's shoes, it could just as easily backfire on him by losing support of key players. Wouldnt be the first time the player power kick out a coach. Said it all along, the issue has never been with the coaches we have had. Its the players, always has been. Unless it is weeded out, us fans will simply have to put up with the same bullshit that we have for so long.

Well, one thing is for sure, if Foran doesn't play this rnd then Kearney is definitely the mole..

Good news about Roger Tuivasa-Sheck back and Foran listed. Tui obviously a talking point. Sao is an intriguing one did nothing last year but obviously Kearney sees something in him. Not unhappy with the team named.

Pretty sure you're in the wrong forum with that kind of attitude.

We totally suck and if we lose we deserved to lose and if we win we got lucky or they played bad.

Disappointed with this team list.

At least expected Tui to go back to NSW cup as Mooks intended last week.

Seems now that was more to make way for Vatuvei than a demotion based on form.

Thinking about it again, it's SK in a nutshell.

He's known to stick with the players who abide to his ways. Vatuvei ranking higher than Tui with the benefit of history.

Which leads me to believe that Despite Tuis poor form he's obviously had a good preseason or good trainer.

Atleast showing effort in those areas and winning SK over.

That could be the only reason why CNK hadn't got a look in - not even a name on the extended bench.

Which leads me to believe that SK feels Tuis only obstacle is his belief in himself.

Maumalo has worked through his downfalls with pure effort.

I don't know if Tui showed enough of that last week, but I go back to 2015 whet Tui literally looked like the next big thing.

Cappy played with his head playing him all around the park. Atleast SK has come out and given him a ceiling - even if that's only on the wing.

Hopefully Tui can use SKs faith in him to have faith in himself.

Play like he did round 1 2015 when he gave us all a hard on with his first line break at fullback, something Sam Tomkins hardly did despite his price tag.

He had no pressure then, but to be taken seriously at this level he has to battle through pressure and perform of get out.

P.s. I'd expect Foran to be named on bench on game day replacing Clark, or starting at 6 with Ata taking Clarks spot on the bench. Still wish Kata would be send to detention in NSW cup with Gubb, with Ayshford and Gavet coming into the 17 by default.

I thought that players were going to be held accountable there were plenty of competition for places and there was so much talent at the club. So why has no one been held to account for the shit that we have seen for 4 weeks now, and when the fuck do Graham Henry and co get together. What a load of shit another year of lies .

Can somebody tell me what he has ever done wrong, except being a honky in a Polynesian backline? By that I mean he is no Fusitua near the tryline. The guy was an Australian schoolboy rep, they don't hand those jerseys out to honest triers.
Wouldn't have anything to do with race for starters, that's small minded to suggest even if it's taking the piss.

Ayshford started his season strong last year but fizzled out. He was only signed as depth and isn't a cornerstone of the future by any means.

It's more SK building his team for the future by sticking to his premedited combinations - or in this case the possibles vs. probables with Ayshford a worse case Scenario.

Just hope the same isn't for CNK - while yet to taste First Grade he could turn from depth to possible to probable real quick.

It's probably better he's trying to improve certain players rather than dropping and cutting players all over the place. Trying to introduce some consistency

It wasn't about race, it was about body shape. Read what I said again.

thought he was solid at centre last season. no point not using your squad to strengthen the team if all you are going to do is put individuals in certain positions in the hope they develop fast enough and that selection doesnt weaken the team

As much as I'd like to see CNK get a go, and to see the back of Tui and Ken on the wings, I can understand Mooks wanting to role out the closest to his starting 17 (as per off-season training) as possible, and give then a few games. Given we've lost Simon Roger and Isaac in at least one of the 3 games we've played so far, it's definitely understandable he wants to give his first choice team and extended run to gel.

Fair point, again draws down to what SK obviously sees in Tui, Kata, Fusitua and Maumalo

Outside Fusitua it feels the others are up in the air, but it's fair to give the combinations their due diligence I suppose.

I would have like to have seen Tui dropped as planned but I guess SK is going for consistency.

Again if after 10 games and time with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Foz in the team nothing's changed, SK will have to make something happen then.

3 games? Probably fair to ride them out despite what we think.

From memory we haven't had a game this season where our first string side has stayed on the park for the full 80 minutes, every game we've been forced to reshuffle our line-up and it's really only been the back end of these games where we've lost it.

I see this weeks team selection as a measure of faith in the players by the coaches both because of those mitigating factors and to see if this side rebounds after another famous 'honesty session' if they fail this weekend with a sub standard performance I think we'll see changes. Kearney mentioned on Radiosport when probed that he'd have to look at team selections after the dragons game if nothing changes.
