Tui was dropped because he refused to play fullback or wing. And Gubb just isn't as good, doesn't have as much potential as others in the squad. Form doesn't come into it at all with these coaches...

Potential over form is the curse that OG gave us. We've got the potential to be the best sporting franchise in the know universe don't you know. Pity that we've been off our game for so long.

Much harder transition for a forward than a half. The physicality alone.
Much less taxing on a halves body

While that's true, mason is likely to play the full 80 where as someone like satae or Sipley would only be looking at a 15-20 minute stint

Haven't won one in the last 3 seasons i don't think, but we get the 5.30 AU 7.30 NZ kickoff a lot of the time.

As AlexM has already said you are comparing apples with oranges. Mason Lino can just pass the ball everytime or pick a run when its open. Be lucky if he does that 5 times a game. On defence he could go hide between two props or out on the fringe.

Forwards dont have that luxury. They must hit the line. They must tackle up the middle. Its the forwards that do all the line speed work.

Mason Lino has been killing it in the ISP grade. Happy to see him rewarded. Better option than Ata Hingano IMO...

I totally agree BUT it does raise alarm bells to me. All year they have defaulted to Ata now when the chance to give him a fulltime gig they go in a different direction. Does this mean Mace has overtaken Ata for next years spot or do we have a player coming in for Foran interesting selection.

I wasnt calling you out. I was trying to make sense of your constant criticism of the ISP forwards when some forum writers think otherwise.

While im not interested in the school yard banter, i too would like to know why our reserves dont measure up to our high paid super stars?

I asked about Mason some time ago and the only real comment i can remember was that he would never get another shot in FG. Which was obviously (now) wrong. I am a strong believer in specialist subs, everyone in the ISP team should be ready at anytime to step up into the FG team, and any FG not performing should be swapped if there is another player better than them. If there is such a difference between FG and ISP in some positions then that would cause some pretty massive alarm bells to ring in recruitment. Or is it only in our ISP team?
