Are Shaun Johnson's stats padded by a handful of great games against weaker teams? Where as Maloney (and Townsends) are across a more consistent range of games?
What would be interesting is to see Chad and Shaun Johnson's stats at the Warriors and then Chad and Maloney's at the Sharks.
Would also be interesting to see kicking metres, 40/20's, repeat sets. There is no doubt Shaun Johnson has individual attacking ability, which in turn creates chances for his team mates. Where he lacks is that organisational, get the team around the field and grind out the win when the other team has shut down his individual attacking options.
I would say that Chads stats are probably very similar at the Sharks and at the Warriors. Which brings in to question both the team he is playing with and his halves partners.
Were the Sharks simply a far better team than the Warriors? Is Maloney a far better half than Shaun Johnson?
