NRL round 19 updated team lists — Penrith have lost skipper Matt Moylan for Friday’s crucial clash with the Warriors as their finals hopes hanging by a thread.
Moylan failed to get through the team’s captains’ run due to a niggling hamstring complaint and will be replaced in the 17 by 21-year-old rookie playmaker Tyrone May.
The Panthers captain is expected to be back on deck in time for next week’s home game against the Gold Coast, but it’s a blow Anthony Griffin’s men can ill-afford as they sit four points adrift of eighth-placed Parramatta.
Moylan’s scratching will be confirmed when Griffin names his final side an hour before Friday’s clash, with May the latest local junior to come through Penrith’s ranks to first grade.
Utility Tyrone Peachey may yet shift into the halves with Isaah Yeo moving to centre, which would allow May to be blooded from the bench rather than starting as Moylan’s replacement.
