Thought it was an entertaining game with some good tries. Donkeys had to pull out a real clever play to get back in it.

We got the run of the green on the Roger Tuivasa-Sheck try. Thompson still grating at me. Didn't miss lillyman.

Trying to just take the games as they come, that was a pretty good one. Warriors stars stood up.

But badly need a decent 2nd half game plan... got away with the predictable plays this time.

The past other teams started offloading plays after 1/2 time in other words keep the ball as long as you can. Starve them and run em around, tire them out, create confusion etc..

Our 1 off bowl through them shit dont work in the 2nd half. End up with less time in possession and gain maybe 10 metres out of it... and that just plays into their hands..means more time defending for us... no wonder they get gassed so fast..

Lucky Origin saved us .... for now..

No dumb stuff from Maumalo today. That was pretty surprising to see. Played well the big dumb fella.

Aside from ball watching on that cross field kick. He basically cost us a try.
Other than that he was great.

Happy with the 2 points but it was hard to gauge any improvement against the team the Broncos put up

Glad to get the two points. If we lost all we would of heard about all week was the baby Broncos upsetting the superstar Warriors side. Win and all of the Australian analysts will be it is the Origin period where the Warriors usually pick up some wins. The club is a bit damned either way but I'd rather pick up the two points and here Matty Johns and co harp on constanly about the Origin period.

We got the job done which is the main thing.

The second half wasn't great in terms of the scoreboard but the 100% completion rate is a start as usually the first half is 85% or higher before falling away drastically.

Don't want to get carried away. We need to win away from Mt Smart a few times first.

I love origin period!!!

First half we absolutey dominated the Queensland Cup side... forwards were rolling forward and the backs were running...happy days!!

Second half the Qld Cup side fought back. About the same time as the prop rotation for us took place when Lisone and Vete went off.

Can't help but wonder that we might be better served by decent use of the bench!! Roache kinda feels like a wasted spot if he's only going to be used with 20 mins to go. Afoa coming on with 10mins left is just stupid!!!!

Thought all the under pressure players played well.....except for Thompson. He's still horribly out of form!!!

Shaun Johnson made a couple of good defensive plays, the weaker defensive halves are always going to have some games where they clock up a number of missed tackles, the most important thing is what tackles are they missing and whether they make the vital ones.

Was out at a comedy night so haven't seen the game but I did get 50 odd minutes of radio commentary. Sounded good hearing Albert and Sam playing well through the middle.

Looking forward to actually seeing the game. For once.

That was a good performance.

Yes, we know the Broncos were missing people to Origin and injury, but they still fielded a pretty decent team, and we beat them. You could even have argued we should have beaten them by more - we had the top seven Fantasy performers tonight (in order, Johnson, Maumalo, Mannering, Luke, Gavet, Nicoll-Klokstad, Tuivasa-Sheck) and with that sort of dominance maybe we should have won by more than 18. But never mind, bank the points.

That first half in particular was very good - we ran hard, tackled hard, outplayed them in every way, helped by some errors on their part but overall we had higher energy and commitment.

If there was one thing that worried me it was the clear (and fortunately temporary) droop in confidence when the Broncos scored those two tries in the second half (good tries, too). You could see the tackling dropping off, heads going down, almost see the thought bubbles over their heads, "Oh god, they're coming back at us, we're going to blow this one too". And then we picked ourselves up again and found a second wind. So we pulled ourselves together, but I wouldn't say we've got all our confidence and mental toughness back yet after the previous weeks' losses.

Good individual performances all round: nobody had an outright bad game, and several raised their game quite a bit. Issac and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck were much more on song than they've been. And wasn't that solo try from Shaun an absolute corker? Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad was very good - maybe missed scoring one he should have nailed, but still impressive. I really hope he gets to keep his place, he's the real deal. Gavet keeps making those 'contested meters'. And I thought bringing on Vete and Lisone at the same time worked out really well, they looked they were hunting as a pack together.
