Sao is a pretty good defender, I wouldn't mind if he came straight in. He doesn't get much love here but he does a lot of good work on defence that I don't think got noticed the last few weeks albeit he had very little game time. If anything he should be given more minutes this time so we can see what he can do. He's a big body who needs to speed up his play the ball but I'm sure he can work on that.

Given Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad obviously won't bust his way back into the side I think if Manu's fit you play him ahead of Ken.

Defensively their probably on par with each other but Manu offers more on attack and has a superior understanding of wing play even if it has moved away from his particular style over the years.

Concerns around his durability though I agree.

The nrl site has an updated team listing, with Matulino at lock, with Vete coming into the squad. Not sure how accurate that is, I didn't think a player could come into the 21 if not named on the Tuesday. Would have preferred bodene to lock and bunty on the edge, but if big ben can get out a bit wider, and wind the clock back a few years, I'll be stoked.

Warriors lock Simon Mannering will miss his side's Round 10 trip to Pepper Stadium to face the Panthers, ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Mannering will be replaced in the starting side by Ben Matulino, with the Warriors granted an exemption by the NRL to add Albert Vete to their 21-man squad

I love Mannering and we are going to miss his defense and scramble but am really interested to see if we get a bit more go forward through the middle, and possibly more polish on attack.

You have to apply for special dispensation to get someone into the squad from outside the named 21. I assume this is to stop someone like Des Hasler sneaking a young half in last minute. You would think if the Warriors said "Aggghh fuck our best player got injured at training, can we bring someone else in?" Surely thats the sort of circumstance where you aren't pulling the wool over the NRLs eyes, otherwise they would just make the rule "Only players from inside the 21".

Yeah and Hoffman is too fucking slow as well. He's constantly getting burnt / plodding at the line.
