Id move Bo to centre where he has performed well in the past. Kata Id move to hooker to utilise his old rugby halfback skills and darting runs. We've seen how shit we look with poor service from dummy half during the trials. Thats why Jazz Tevaga lost his spot to Erin Clark...
Oh man, haven't even started the season and I've already been looking at other teams' line speed with envy, and now I've got the dummy half blues . :(

If you are Stephen Kearney, and the NRL gifts you a winnable game in round one, you probably should try Luke for 80.

You probably should take this boon and use it to make a statement about rewarding your troops who went hardest in the preseason build up.

All things being equal, a team with Luke, Mannering, Shaun Johnson, + Roger Tuivasa-Sheck....the sort of players Newcastle are envious of....should afford us to match their youthful exuberance with our own Maumalos + Gubs + Hingano's.

Personally I recon this is exactly the time to take risks on effort, demand 80min from Luke, start day one doing your own thing as coach.

What happens if we win and all play well ? What happens next game ?

Cappy and Jim played a team without the naughty six last year.

The fookers beat the Dragons !

Their reward was to return to the ISP to make way for the naughty ones.

So yeah, I hope this side wins, I hope this side puts the same question to the coach who will face his old club the Storm....Cappy and Jim failed IMO to preserve culture over talent.

In essence, if we win, will Kearney change a winning team including changing lesser reputationed players that play well on Sunday ?

So you should treat a round 1 game with complacency, I mean it's only the Knights let's take risks and experiment

- no back up hooker on bench, stupid risk to take, if Luke gets injured early we probably lose the game, Crap... what happens if Shaun Johnson, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck or ATA gets injured ? their in the same boat.

-Gubb starting, he should be last choice not starting prop, I hope he proves me wrong but I doubt it..... We all know you hate Gubb, so answer is just on personal gripe and nothing to do with preseason training as well as coach saying he deserves the chance ?

- Maumalo on the wing, I would much rather Ayshford, Maumalo is too much risk, cant finish shit defence is good for one or two hitups thats it.....Totally agree on Maumalo, BUT not Ayshford on the wing, hes a fill in centre not a winger.

I would personally want SK to say "this is a home game against the wooden spooners and we WILL kick arse, put your mortgage on it !!!!!" Which i believe most fans would then agree with his team selection.

Wow your a goose, because I don't rate Gubb it must be personal? Has he ever made over 50m in a game? He is just coming back from a 7 weeek suspension, he has been suspended before for two blatant shoulder charges in one game, sure being an idiot should exclude you from the team but it should when you don't make more than 50m in a game

If arts gets. Injured we shift lolohea or Fusitua back, worked pretty well last year against the dogs, if Johnson or hingano get injured we can run with one half, you can still win with one half, it's pretty hard to win without a hooker, they touch the ball the most and shit service makes it very hard for the attack, watch the Anzac test from last year when Bromwich was hooker

I would prefer to have Clarke on the bench. However, with both Thompson and Hoffman struggling it seems that has to be taken into account.

We are also looking at Luke's 80 minute capability from last years displays, he is fitter this year and SK will be taking that into account.

I can understand him not wanting to go into the game with a rookie second row.

I say trust SK and his selections. Plenty of time to stick the knife in if it doesn't work.

From the time I started Grammar to the time I finished Grammar and mover onto life afterwards I don't remember a single time we won our first match. Hopefully that changes tomorrow. However forgive me if I am not to optimistic. However new season, new prospects right?

Get used to it.

The whole season(s) under Kearney will be an experiment.

Someone has to turn around years of complacency on the field.

The Warriors had a great chance last year when the experimental B side upset the Dragons, a week latter I recon they blew it by bringing back the 'better players'(the naughty six)....when in fact they should have been loyal to a winning team.....I'm basing that as a comparison to this side, on the assumption Kearney is rewarding effort over talent (at least that's how he rolled with the Kiwis).

Reading posts, random thoughts. Who's got the best hands in the team? On the fifth when the opposition kick for position, why not kick it straight back? You'll catch most of the opposition out of position - as they'll already be running to chase the ball - and possibly when their winger/fullback catches the ball if you're quick enough you'll pin em at their end instead. That'd be funny as. Vete is our platform - I'd like Foran to get in his ear.

I've been too busy to spend much time thinking about my favourite team of gimps. Can someone please confirm we are coming off our toughest pre season ever. Will help with my tipping.
That's next season.
Trust me I've got a DeLorean with a flux capacitor in my garage.

How old are you? :)

Back in the day that happened all the time. They were called kicking duels. The fullbacks kicked to each other, one trying to force the other back or make a mistake. That was on grounds like Carlaw Park, which Mount Wellington has banned mention of.;)

Sadly we didn't have a rugby league team so I only watched the warriors. But still fostered my love for the warriors. (and my pure hatred for the first round and to a slightly lesser extent St Peters).
Don't worry, St Peters hated you too, and still does.:D
