So the final lineup will be...

1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
2. David Fusitua
4. Solomone Kata
5. Ken Maumalo
6. Ata Hingano
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Albert Vete
9. Issac Luke
10. Charlie Gubb
11. Bunty Afoa
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Simon Mannering

15. Jacob Lillyman
16. Sam Lisone
17. Isaiah Papalii
18. Bodene Thompson

Bodene to play a limited role. Which means Bunty to play long minutes. Think he topped 70 minutes in one of the Golden Point games last year so he should be good. Dont think he will play that long. Maybe 40-50 minutes. Bo coming on with 10-15 minutes left in the first half.

Isaiah Papalii will likely come on for Ryan Hoffman. Dont see him giving the props a spell but he will get time in the middle to act as one for a short stint.

Be interesting to see Issac Luke play the full 80. We're fucked if he gets knackered or injured but I didnt like the what if bench of Cappys so happy with the selections...

You forgot Tui

Three things I am curious about in this game. With no Matulino, Vete has to really step up on offense, can he make the leap up to a top notch prop? Can Bunty provide us with a better balance in the back row? Hingano has a two week window to show what he can do, is he the goods?

Kata to hooker. Bodene to center.
Makes sense.
Katas off the ground pass is fine.

Kata can tackle..

Until Tohu Harris gets here, Bodene is as good a backrow center option any.....Mannerings too important to move around, Hoff is too set in his ways, Bunty could be a mean center, but I don't want to see his development go through the same bullshit of the like of Paasi....who the Warriors kiddy fiddled then dropped after one over exuberant debut.
How good would it be to have that Prop impact off our bench now ? Paasi is one hell of a multi talent Prop forward the Warriors screwed up.

So yeah, Thompson is experienced enough to give the challenge of playing out of position.

He's short of fitness to be fair, but he has the fitness base of a 80 Minute forward....prancing around in the backs.....should be good for his easing back into game fitness.

Enjoyed reading the 'I hope Foran isn't cleared to play us' posts on the Newcastle forum.

Looking forward to reading other NRL fans opinions this season.

Unlike many Warriors fans, Kieran is the favorite player of a lot of Aussie fans.

I guess he plays their style of hard man little guy game they like....he looks like, a little surfie Toovey type, and fanatics like the no flash Harry Nuts and bolts backseat champions

Foran fits in with their culture and their understanding of how you play league.

I guess that does make him a big risk in Warrior land.

I thought he was the missing ingredient here.....Newy fans seem to think the same, but maybe I'm wrong,he very may well be too different to the Warriors to fit in.

So was Maloney, he was brilliant for us almost immediately. Until he stopped trying under Bluey.

C’mon mate, Foran is used to most of these blokes from the kiwis and his partnership with DCE was similar to what they’ll do with Johnson (split left and right, but combining on set “structures”)

More worried he won't have played in almost a year, and he's knocking the rust off at the same time the club badly needs a strong start.

Yeah look I saw it the same with the Kiwis connection.

But these fuckers have been so diseased by their little inner circle of mediocrity, that every hardnose pro who comes here, ends up the minority in the mix, the outsider of the clique, or happy to Lillyman cruise till origin time.

It will go one of three ways.....Foran will catch fleas and wind down like Bully, Foran will yell and carry on and end up a Hoffman ( good player in new system is alienated ala Steve Price for not getting the Warrior culture... .the Warrior not Kiwis culture) or....Foran goes hard and SK backs him by breaking the clique/drops some stars.

On paper they can thump every team in the comp on their day.

In reality, apart from kata, Mannering, Manu, Fusitua and Thompson.....they are a disappointment to a man effort wise.

That's one big ask of a Foran to influence.....and that is a million miles from Forans Kiwi experiences.

Foran has a decent amount of risk attached to him. The money we have committed to him has come at the expense of our depth.

There are rumors circulating that two of our young talents Ata and Tui have asked for releases, due to Foran taking the 6 spot.

Missed most of last season with a serious injury and a good portion and a kiwis tour the year before. And that's without the possibility that his mental health issues reoccur.

All for the probability that he will be here for one season. It's a big gamble. Let's hope it comes off and he has a blinder in 2017.

Or he takes a look at the mediocrity, suddenly finds an agent and becomes more interested in the first life raft out of town.

Foran is playing for his life. He can only have a blinder if the other losers decide to pull finger. Otherwise he will be a disappointment because superstars playing Warrior catch up, save the world, one man heroics in the NRL get smashed.

Yeah...and in that scenario Cpt Roger Tuivasa-Sheck does the same.....whereas Johnson would be happy enough staying on big money....
I know its fashionable to hate on Shaun Johnson, but thats quite warped logic there. Didnt Roger Tuivasa-Sheck leave the 2015 Minor Premiers to link up with the Warriors who finished 13th? Im sure the money that the Warriors offered didnt come into the equation.

Put simply - Would he have come to the Warriors if the Roosters matched the money? I doubt it.

There is nothing wrong with players looking after themselves and their families.

I was being cynical with tongue in cheek.

Rather than hate on Johnson I was hating on the Warriors culture of mediocrity.

Bro everyone knows they are the gravy train.
