General NRL 2017 Round 1 Games Discussion

There is always one team that gets a thumping in round 1. Usually it's us getting asked to travel and take our licks. So this year Souths look to be taking one for the team. Thank you.:p

Inglis even on one leg scores. Got that run where he could of made a break a while ago. He pretty much stopped and the Tigers were still struggling to put him down, looked like when your young and playing against one of your mates parents and he's waiting for 4 of you to grab a limb and pull him down.

Tedesco is awesome.
Tigers will probably go to top of NRL Table with this win...Points for.
Unless Warriors run rampant against Knights on Sunday
How crazy would that look. The Tigers and Warriors on top of the table. Cream rises to the top.... just lets not worry about the following 25 rounds for now.;)

Winning round 1 will feel like winning the premiership with some of the round 1 disasters the last few years.

The Tigers can be a very good team to watch; they can be electric. I'm fast developing a soft spot for them.
Had a soft spot for them since they merged with Wests haha

Used to watch Cody Walker in the Qld Cup with Easts a couple of years back, was always a cut above the rest. Great to see him getting a genuine shot at the Rabbitohs.

Long season coming up for Dogs/Souths if tonight is anything to go by. People can "it's only round 1" all they want, those two teams have some serious issues that won't be fixed with match fitness.

Looks like storm are going to be without Bromwich and chambers for next week. Chambers looking at 3-4 weeks for punching.

A sin binning plus 3 to 4 weeks. Damn.

Even with just the compulsory sin binning it was enough of a deterrent to risk. So we got a lot of embarrassing push and shove fests.

A suspension on top of that will really make players think twice.

First major injury of the season.

Greg Inglis likely to miss rest of season with ACL injury

Scans have revealed that Rabbitohs captain Greg Inglis has injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee which could see him sidelined for six months.

Inglis’ injury occurred in the opening minutes of last night’s match against the Tigers, however, it was not diagnosed as an ACL injury until the scans were taken this morning.

Rabbitohs General Manager of Football, Shane Richardson, said: “The injury occurred in the first instance in the match, not as a consequence of Greg playing on further.

“Our medical staff further examined the injury at the half time break and they felt the knee was stable, and they along with the Head Coach and Greg himself agreed that he would go on and play in the second half.

“I, along with the rest of our Club, have the greatest of confidence in our medical and coaching staff to make the best possible decisions about our players’ wellbeing.

“We have the quality of squad to continue our quest throughout the season and Greg, as our captain and senior leader, will continue to play a significant role throughout the year.”

Wow, that's a bad look. He was basically asking to come off most of the match, and it turns out he did an ACL. That's about 100x worse that the Roger Tuivasa-Sheck one.

Will Gould now be calling for there to be no Round 1?

The dragons are kicking Penrith arse at the moment.

And are also taking massive dump all over my multi's ! I had the Tigers and Panthers in one, Rabbits and Dragons in another as I knew that there will be upset between those two games, didn't think that it would be both of them ! The worse thing is how many of you took Panthers to win in your first pick in KO tipping on this site. Sucks to be us ... :(

They shouldn't be playing round 1 especially on that field.;)

You can understand a guy being on there for a little while with a knee injury while the player and the staff are trying to see how bad it is. Some instance they probably get on there and straight away its obvious the guy needs to come off; others the player may run a bit and while they asses the situation.

Sure he scored and was still difficult to tackle which is a credit to his strength but he was a passenger out there and really should have been brought off.

Sucks for Souths. Interesting to see how they go especially on attack now.
