After all this Ali lauitiiti cant make the side to me its still shows the bad decision our coach is making, In sport you need to earn respect and this coach has none from the players or the supporters. Fire the bugger ffs so we can go back to trying to make a team again this is becoming a real joke on and off the field

There is a nz bro culture that has nothing to do with poly, maori, white etc. We all like to keep it humble and hate it when someone says they're the man and we get mocked for saying I am the man. We don't wanna hurt the feelings of others so we dont say anything. I myself grew up in this culture and its not just poly its kiwi. The all blacks dont seem to have an issue although im sure theres some bro culture its just that the standards are so high. You can still get consistent performance with a kiwi bro culture. The difference with the warriors is the culture is defiant and undermining of management. The standards arent so high so that isnt gonna get the results but the defiant culture wont help either

Just been to the bookie. No one on the Warriors 13+ :)

Just a few thoughts after reading the posts over the last couple of days

I don't care where our players come from. I don't care that they're not happy. They are professionals who are paid to play. They are also contractors and in the real world if a contractor doesn't perform he gets dumped. Doesn't matter what profession they're in or what racial background they're from. So basically they need to perform or get moved on

It is far better to get yelled at in a group than not to be spoken to and to get sacked. Get over it or move on

The 6 players that are in trouble are obviously morons. After Mondays game heads were always going to roll and these guys have pretty much jumped up and down in front of Cappy calling out " pick me pick me". But I would much rather have seen players dropped for shit performances on field rather than for being dickheads

I've watched on here as some really serious fans have given up in disgust. And I don't blame any of them. In fact I feel the same way and I am sorry that they have gone. The message board will miss their insights and humour. But the Warriors are my team. And with the benefit of a couple of days space to cool off I reckon they will always be my team. Over 20 years I have seen hundreds of players come and go and the current crop will too. They may be legends in their own minds but they are temporary legends. The club will still be there when they're gone ( and may be a better place too). I'll give Doyle and Cappy another season or two to get the club firing properly.
I've waited 20 years for the Warriors to really come right. I can wait a bit more. Imagine walking away just before they come right. What a waste of 20 years.
But I do need to see some hardline change where the players are concerned. I can live with top players getting censured and even dumped and another rebuild.
But PLEASE do something

I agree.

I think "Bro Culture", when Low says it, means guys are more interested in being friends than winning footy games. He's using it as a technical/coaching term to describe a specific problem within a playing group.

There's no reason they can't be highly interested in winning footy games and still be real good mates. But being buddies isn't an amazingly important ingredient.

Loving winning, and hating losing, on a deep emotional level, is the missing element at out club.

These guys would feel less bad losing a game than than they would when missing out on some fun times with their mates. I don't know if these guys even feel bad after a loss. That's the cancer that is Bro Culture...

And now we have hard evidence Low is correct in his assessment.

PS: Call it "Mate Culture" for anyone who loves the word Bro as a dividing line between white people and everyone else on the planet. Or maybe stop being racist against White people. Just a suggestion.

Call me stupid, but I see the Warriors beating the Dragons tomorrow. Dragons have no offense. Well, we don't either, but we have more offense than them.

Saw in the paper today that all the boyz were on energy drinks and not alcohol. That's why they went to an Irish pub til 3AM with a designated driver. To drink energy drinks. The drinks messed up their bodies so much that some of them couldn't make the meeting the next day. See, it wuz nuthin'.

On the subject of energy drinks...I saw after one of our few victories, a picture of Konrad and Sol in the sheds. They were both re-hydrating themselves with Coka~cola. There has been a lot of talk about becoming 24hour athletes and making betting nutritional choices, but Coke and energy drinks are pretty bad choices for anybody.

Whilst the main debate is polarized around coach and players I believe that there's another dynamic which has occurred almost unnoticed to bring in a new Era.
My take is that Cappy is toast, by most measures and under the normal course of events a similar pattern will evolve driven by some players, with the coach sacked and the cycle continues.. However this time the CEO Doyle with the support of the Directors/Owner has taken control.. Cappy may survive but the players who for so long have been frustrating the progress of potentially the best sporting franchise in NZ are going to be purged.. I believe we've seen a revolt crushed and a new dawn beckons. The coach and players are now just that... Doyle is in charge and by all accounts we're in good hands!

man the fallout to this has been huge, if we had won this game, this would have been a footnote in the annals of history, but cause we got smashed it showcased a underlying cancer hovering below the surface.... which needs to be addressed. its good to see cappy haters backing the coach (myself included) this kind of shit needs to be stamped out, it just undermines everything that JD and this club are striving for.

ok Im a Manu guy but man, what the hell was you thinking, very dissapointed in his actions, but we all know hes way past his best, time for him to wind down for retirement, and really this is a blessing in disguise, I really hope Allwood takes his chance, time to move forward to the future with some young guns. Manu will take most of the heat, as he should and has, and this will hurt his reputation and his pride, hes a humble guy so he'll be hurting thats for sure.

Mutts one of the best Front rowers in the game, when he wants to play, but man Ive always been critical of his leadership qualities, hes been around forever but just doesnt want too, or cant be bothered taking on the responsibility of leading this pack ala Bromwich, Graham etc he rather hang at the back with the boys, he will never be a leader, hes just a follower and thats sad.... these two are the ones that piss me off the most.

as for Lisone hes treading on thin ice, needs to put in perspective what the fuck he wants, does he want to play FG, does he want a bad reputation, where no club wants to take a chance on him cause of his unprofessionalism, time to grow up and be a leader not being led astray. as for the other guys, Im sure its a lesson learned.

Hurrell wont be here much longer, thats a given after this episode. probably wont see a FG Warriors jersey again.

Will just back the boys tomorrow and hope they do well, and see how it plays out over the week.

Well said.:)

I agree Davo. The truth is now out.
Players have chosen coaches and plotted their demise purely for their own selfish reasons. Now Doyle is here, he is smart enough to see through it.
Goodbye player power. Welcome accountability.
Still don't think Cappy is the man to coach us to a premiership though but if it takes Cappy a few years to kill the rotten aspects of this club, so be it. Once Doyle pulls off some more changes, purchases a few more professionals, the trouble makers will have no where to hide. No longer will they feel that they can do whatever they want as Doyle can and will sign players to replace them.
The more I think about it, the more I believe the culture problem at the Warriors has been caused through our inability for so long to be able to recruit decent players from across the ditch.
