Didn't he see Gubb tackle fresh air last week.worst bench ever.we are fucked, just when we thought we may have a coach he pulls this shit on us I am stunned

I was quietly hoping that Ata Hingano would be given a cheeky debut this week, because Tommy isn't quite up to 80mins fitness at the moment.
Keeping Tommy on the bench and giving Ata the first half to ease him in and see if he has the first great chops, would have given us better options during the game, and a better bench.

I'm hoping Gubb proves us all wrong and comes with a better game plan this week after seeing the video.
Sao needs to step up a notch after last week too, although first game back from injury is always hard. It was strange to put him into first grade without a stretch of the legs in the reserve grade.

Starting line up looks good though. If we start like last week, then we might give the Storm a worry.

It's a fucked up looking bench but I dare say it'll be different next week when Roache comes back in, he'll be a better option for injury cover than the worlds slowest winger.

I dont understand the plan.

If people are right and they carry wright on the bench so he can sub on the wing so someone else can move to fullback so Tui can move to standoff.. that would be the most ridiculous game plan ever. A purposeful complete reshuffle of the team mid game.

If you pick this starting lineup, surely the idea is that this is the best team to take us to the finals and reshuffling half the backline midgame.. you might aswell just play Tui at half for the whole game.

.. but why else would they play Wright on the bench, its a crazy selection

There is no sane reason i can see for this. Even if Manu is expected to be a late withdrawal....that's what the 18th man is for.

Gubb and Sao need to step up. Bigger minutes for Sao if this turns out to the gameday squad.

Watching the Storm over the weekend they were pretty patchy so even with this bench I see us in with a shot.

Starting line up is fine.

I said from the end of the Dogs game there would be a back on the bench as cover, just expected it to be Konnie. In any case, I don't think Wright will play unless required. With a backrow that can play 80 we're fine rotating the other 3 outside of injury.

This means Sao won't be designated second half pinch hitter so he'll get a chance to actually build into the game

I would have replaced Gubb, but I'm not surprised that he's there. He had a shocker, but he's better than that and will have the chance to redeem himself.

Wright offers nothing off the bench

Gubb is Mudd

Sao is unfit and needs a few runs in NSW Cup

Cappy needs an uppercut

He must be thinking Mats is gonna play 65+ mins to match Brommy. That and all 3 of our backrowers are going to play 80. Can't see Sao doing much coming on in the 60th minute again, other than a few 7m hitups and an error or two.

i am expecting that Cappy has been inconsolable since the news of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and gave his starting lineup he wanted to be named. He forgot about anyone on the bench so the media guy thought he would be a smart ass and name Wright on the bench for shits and giggles.

If not....Cappy has lost the plot!!!

Regarding Sao, I thought he looked really slow last week. He looked kind of unfit or out of energy

The team I have no problem with.
The bench, Cappy has no idea about.
If Fusitua does have a rib injury (as was posted elsewhere) and Wright is cover, why not just name him at #18 instead off on the bench.

And, as for Gubb, I have no idea how he's kept his place.

Hmm, I'd still rather

6. Leuluai
7. Johnson
14. Wright

over

6. Robson
7. Johnson
14. Leuluai

But the selection still baffles me. Can only hope the as of yet unnamed 18th man will play instead of Wright or whoever I presume he's covering.

He should of named Robson &
lousie there too while he is at it
But he knows what hes doing well go cappy

As regrettable as that bench is I don't think we have that much choice with wright. 5 games out of 7 we have lost a player through injury and 3 in the bronco's alone. The two most likely to fall over are Manu coming back from injury for the 2nd time this season and David (made of glass) Fusitua, Wright is the next winger of the rank.

If Konnie had been ripping it up of the bench I would have gone with him, but as a Konnie fan I think he has been disappointing this year. São should improve on his 2nd run, would have gone with Lane over Gubb but Charlie will know he needs a big game this wknd.

Wright's reward for scoring a T R Y last week, methinks. But I agree, 18th man would be more sensible, Wright can't cover any of the spine positions so it's starting Wing or Centre surely.

Something too weird about a winger/centre coming off the bench who can only play winger/centre. Obviously it's great to have someone on the bench who can fill in if needed (injury, send off, etc) for however long in one game, but having to cover wing or centre should be last priority surely.

Heard a guy ring radio sport a few days ago say Hurrell just needs to forget this idea of changing his running style and go back to what he was doing.

I think if he switched to an Ausy team, or was traded, he would get a lot more leeway. Go to one of the glamour clubs like St George or Rabbits or Easts and that running style wouldnt rate a mention

Right now Hurrell is hitting the line like Lillyman, upright turning the shoulder into the tackler, and hes getting driven backwards
