Here are some names of halves that were looking for a contract June last year, Chris Sandow, Trent Hodkinson, Jayden Nikorima, Mitchell Cornish, Daly Cherry evans, Damien Cook, Jack Littlejohn, Kurt Mann. There were also many others that could of been looked at, but this gives an idea of where we could of gone

Chris Sandow, the exact type of player we don't want, hot occasionally, freezing cold the rest of the time with off field issues, Hodgkinson good but expensive, Nikorima promise but still a rookie, DCE super expensive, unpopular with team mates and a fucking lying scumbag, the rest meh. Sooner have the cheap experienced player on a one year deal.

OK then, why not have tried Lolohea, last time I checked he isn't injured, basically what I'm saying is what was the point of buying Robson, if the end plan was for him to end up playing NSW cup, that just isn't smart. We had enough cover for that position without Robson, who is old and would never have been a long term plan, so why wait for the inevitable instead of blooding what you feel your future will be. Uses up salary cap to purchase a better player and just has no logic to it whatsoever.

In anticipation to the response, ask yourself, how good was Robson as a player last season?, how long did we think he would play for the Warriors?, What would be our ideal half pairing?, We really need good centres that can read plays and tackle and they cost money that we have spent on a semi retired half, When is the right time to blood the new talent into the halves?

Just asking :)

I understand where your coming from, I've asked myself, where is the pathway for Lolohea moving into the halves and how does Robson fit into that plan because it's not immediately apparent to any of us. I've said before we need to view this quest for an NRL premiership as a long term campaign, we have brought well and we should be blooding Lolohea in the halves now so in the next 2 years we have a solid platform to launch a title shot from while we still have Luke, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck etc. In some way the signing of Robson was just reactive to loosing Shaun Johnson from the back end of last season, Tommy's injury issues and Chad to the Sharkies so I can't be to critical of that.

I feel I've been to harsh on Robson in some of my earlier comments, he's usually a dependable player, he's obviously out of form but you don't play 12 seasons of first grade without doing your job for the team, so while it's not ideal at the moment I can only imagine he'll get better. Maybe Tommy will put pressure on Robson for his position we'll have to wait and see but it's very unlikely we'll see the likes of Hingano, Lino or Lolo in that halves position this season unless as injury cover.

To be fair, your replies to Robson are all reasonable and sane, I really just can't stand the guy, and it bugs me when I see week in and week out of Robson being a turnstile, or leaving the hole open and not creating much in the way of attack, but that also has much to do with the possibility of Shaun Johnson being the creative flair and a directive to send most of the traffic his way to create which may lead to sometimes Robson playing the role of a hooker rather than a half.

Sorry Robson, I just don't rate you. I'm sure you are a nice person though

Anyway, enough about Robson, who is supremely confident about tomorrows game? Wish i could say I was :(, and why not bring back Toopi :)
This is the Warriors we're talking about.... there are very few games I'd say I was supremely confident about. Given the Rorters form so far this season, there's no reason we shouldn't beat them.... except, we are the Warriors who seem to be very charitable at times and like to let other teams play themselves back into form. Sometimes, I wish we were more like the lions and less like the Christians.

Just heard during the Storm Knights game that Asofa-Solomona will be staying with the Storm and not joining rugby union next year. Interesting that he apparently re-signs and has his first game of the year. Anyway fantastic news for New Zealand league supporters.

Happy he's staying in league, disappointed he's signed on for the storm .... I would've paid overs for him to join up with the Warriors next year.

My view is that Robson was bought in for experience and cover, NSW Cup and the odd first grade game.

The problems were, don't think the coaching staff thought TL would be out for so long, Tui isn't a half, Lino was injured and Hingano is still in development. Not a lot of options for the coach.

The thing with the Warriors, just when you say "Surely they can't play any worse", they seem to go, challenge accepted. I haven't been confident about them winning for longer than I care to remember. Years ago while on one of their longest winning streaks Stacey was asked about the best thing about it. He said something along the lines of "Turning up at a game expecting to win, not just hoping to win. Unfortunately I think it was the pre game interview before playing a under performing Dragons team at Mt Smart, end result red hot Warriors lose to rubbish Drags at home and so the pain continued.

Henry Perenara to the Storm rescue again....

The Storm were shite...only just managed to overtake an injury ravaged Knights team...in Melbourne!

Knights gave Storm a right old fright yet we demolished them and went very close against the Storm.
Are the Storm average this year?

Had a laugh at Andy Raymond interviewing Cam Smith at the end of the game... "You and Cooper have played a lot over the years, yet today it looked like it was your first game together..."

Johnson tells Tony Veitch in a Newstalk ZB interview airing today that online abuse has made him question whether using social media is worth the hassle.
Fair question Shaun Johnson. My answer is definitely not, I don't even include my real name or details on here. Then again I am an old fogey and all the youngsters today seem to be happy to put everything they do out there in spite of all the warnings about weirdos trolling about.

Gee, the more games that are played the more I'm starting to see our results being put into perspective.

West Tigers will give most teams a run for their money in 2016 and we did well to peg them back almost snatching a win.
The Broncos, we were well in the arm wrestle until we lost Manu and Ayshford to injuries, the score didn't really reflect the closeness of that game.
The Storm we could have wrapped that game up in the last 5 mins had our halves thought about the drop kick.
The Storm were lucky to get away with that win tonight against the Newcastle team we flogged last week.
Are we really as good as we were in the 2nd half given Newcastle could have won tonight??

I see the value of Vete on at 13 and I'm always a fan of seeing Muts in the starting side..
I know we all like to think of ourselves as wannabe coaches and EVERY comment in here is purely based around "IMO" only,
but alot of the backlash really has been over the top.

Absolutely no reason why we can't flog the Chooks tomorrow, if ever they were there for the taking it is this game. IMO!
Manly maybe showing improvement but they are not the Manly of old given alot of the old heads, including the coach are no longer there. IMO!

I'll be nervously watching like everyone here, but quietly confident! :)
