Get the kids down in front of the TV to settle down before bed. Get the SkyGo sorted for the game as it should be a close one; only to it's 28-0. Good thing I don't bet as I can't pick em.

A bit strange seeing seeing two the power houses from the last few years getting pumped. The Roosters who have been good defensively have been getting towelled up quite often. Souths started well this year but was that the opposition?

32-0. So the key question for the second is when does Inglis decide to go for a drop kick?;)
32-1 final score

Forward passes are a complete lottery.
One of my pet peeves with the game is forward passes. I hate the lottery of whether the ball came out of the hand backwards or not. IMO an forward pass is a forward pass. It needs to governed exactly the same as it is in rugby union. The whole physics momentum argument is ridiculous. We're trying to play a game of footy, not bend the fabric of time...

Strange comments about Broncos and Cowboys being the benchmark and we are crap.
Didn't we go pretty good against the Broncs despite a bunch of injuries.
We'll flog them at Mt Smart!

I agree, it gets stupid. The one IMO needs to be looked at are forward passes at DH.

It is a lottery, and the commentators play the game by saying line ball or flat pass.

Forward passes used to be a real sticking point for me. I've mellowed a bit since then.

Don't get me wrong, the inconsistency still annoys the crap out of me, but I tend to take a closer look at suspect passes and ask myself "a little forward, a little back, would it have made a difference? "If the answer IMO is no then I just let it go and try not to let it bother me. For example, if the Milford pass for the Roberts try last night had of looked forward I wouldn't have cared because it gave Roberts no advantage and nobody was ever going to catch him regardless.

Forward is still forward I know, I'm just trying to counter the inconsistency for my own sanity.

Sam Williams showing a very nice touch of class. Dummy, run, holds it up perfectly for his outside support. Very calm in a pressure situation.

Edit: Hodgson follows it up with a slick dummy and pass.

No Sezer, no Austin, no worries against the Titans so far.

Sadly when I played I was in a game much worse than that. I filled in for one of our club sides as they were short on players. I can't remember if we had 9 or 11. But we had the coach of the side playing and near the start of the game we got down to the opposition 20 and the coach takes a drop kick.

We all queried "why did you take the one?" along with some banter "You know it's not rugby right and we're only up by 1 not 3, or do you plan to keep scoring in 1's?".
Response: "We're short of players so we need to take the points when it is one offer.

That logic isn't too bad except we lost 40 odd to 1. So yeah the points were really on offer again after that.:(

Looking forward to seeing the Raiders tonight. Have missed most of their games this year due to they have usually been on the Saturday 5:30 slot. Interested to see how they will go this year as they have recruited quite well and removed some of the guys that weren't performing too well.

The next one is interesting as two teams that are struggling and our opponents over the next weeks. Here is wishing for a spate of broken legs, concussions and suspensions. Rip into each other boys.;)

Raiders sure know how to blow a good lead.

FPN.....lol.....just lol.

Titans are like the opposite of us. They always start strong, fade in the middle, and then pick up some late wins once they're out of contention to take some feel goods into the off season.

In the circle of mediocrity they're the trough to our hump.

Don't care if there's another game on, no way I'm missing Ricky's presser.....

Also, there's reports that the Titans had an extra man on in the 48th minute. Could be interesting.

Got pulled away from the TV. Didn't think I'd miss much looking at the score with 10-15 minutes to go. LOL.

Details?

They may have screwed up the replacements and ended up with 14 players on the field.

48th minute, that might have been the time when Roberts got injured.

Not sure how long or how bad the screw up was, but there will definitely be an official look at it.

I thought that was the responsibility of an NRL official now, unless the player went on without the ok.
