6 Again

He has been a pretty good player this year he was more than half of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck try in golden point at Gosford. IMO he has been really exposed twice, in the Kiwis and yesterday. I just hope it doesn't wreck him.

I was probably referring more to his defensive efforts this year but there's some technical issues also, he's been found wanting both on the wing and at fullback and I'm almost of the opinion he needs to go back to the cup side find his position if that's 6 and start building his game back up ... if the Cowboys wreck us next week then were likely gone from the finals but the cup side will progress and he should take his opportunity there along side Hingano ... let them start fighting it out early.

Is it just me, or does Cappy never have a plan to immobilize the opposition
So many teams easily do it to us, whether it be shutdown Johnson, immobilize our forward pack, turn our wingers around. I have not yet witnessed one game where we have frustrated the other team out of the game by neutralizing their weapons

Surely Cappy could see two things with the bunnies. 1 Adam Reynolds. 2 Bunnies Forward Pack
Neither were targeted last night

So what? Surely first grade isn't the place to give someone a trial at something just because they want to play there. Heck if that's the case can I play halfback next week? I'd really like to. I just think a player must actually demonstrate the skills and ability to be given that chance.
Don't tell Cappy, he might agree then where are we going to play Shaun Johnson?

No PTB, you can't play halfback. But what I said was, give him a trial at pre-season, compete with Ata, and see how he goes. That's not throwing him in at FG.

Lolohea isn't a fullback and he isn't a half, and iv'e been saying exactly that even before he made first grade, so it's no surprise to me he's being found out, but he is a fantastic winger.
Is he though? he is fast and elusive and wing is definitely easier to play than FB but wingers need to be able to catch the ball on the full too, I haven't seen him show he can do that even when he gets to the ball.

I don't understand why people think Lolohea needs to be given a chance at six and why we can't doubt his ability to play there. He hasn't played there much but neither has Lillyman or Matulino (yea I'm joking but you can see my point). No-one is saying we should give those two a crack there for obvious reasons - what is the difference with Lolohea? He hasn't shown me any reason why he would work there either. Why does he deserve the chance? Go play NSW Cup and earn your spot. If he earns it on the back of performance then sure no problem. I hope they say six is open and let them scrap it out in the pre-season with the best guy getting the job.

Totally agree with you Lolo doesn't deserve a walk up starting spot in the team, but for some unknown reason our coach made the statement he is our long term #6 yet continues to pick him to play any where except there. FFS put him in reserves and give him some game time in the position they expect him to play in FG. If he can't cut it in the lower grades the question is answered with out fucking up in FG. As far as I'm concerned McFadden himself is the reason for so much of the shit he gets, don't make a statement then continually choose to do the opposite.
If the coach says Lolo is going to be the #6 why shouldn't some fans believe he be given the chance, personally as I keep stating if he has to be in FG put him on the wing, it's not like our wingers are too good to bump.

Great post and agree 100%. Having read this forum I'm not sure why a lot of posters are so keen to keep McFadden on as Coach.

My hubby thinks he wastes a spot on the bench.

He also says he keeps changing players in their positions which would affect their cohesiveness.

Surely he's had a chance?

Would Jim take Cleary back?

Dunedin warrior

Souths played really well and their game plan worked nicely. The Burgess brothers just bashed us up the middle for about 450 yards which is ridiculous. Reynolds probably has the best short range kicking game in the NRL and after the first couple kicks early in the sets was allowed all the time in the world to toy with the two Sherman tanks on the wings and a confidence shot Tui who was awful.

Our forwards are ok when they are playing at 100% anything less and we get destroyed.

I don't really know where we go from here in the backline other than cloning Fusitua so he can play fullback centre and wing.

Still on the bright side beat the Cowboys and there is some light at the end of the tunnel. They will have to play their best game of the season though.

Would Cleary come back???

You can get L&P in Australia now so my answer would be no ... :(

Just watch last night NZ Warriors game again and is it just me or does it appear that our whole defensive strategy was about trying to shut out Adam Reynolds instead of trying to contain Greg Inglis ? It's no wonder they scored the points that they did if that was coach's plan ... o_O

As far as I can tell the coaches plan seems to end after "Turn up at stadium on game day."

Cappy is the type of guy who will always have a plan, the trick is making it simple, selling it to the players and having Plan B. All the good coaches do that.

I agree with you there mate. No problem if he earns in through the pre season. What if he doesn't and neither does Hingano? They are both totally untested at this level.

Fair points. Saying he is the long term six was trying to appease people IMO. You're right - don't say it if you aren't backing it up.

Care to explain how to target Reynolds and the big Rabbitohs pack? It is easy to say but what do you actually do to make it happen?
