I would just like to say, that I for one, never doubted them. Everything I said in the other thread was purely for their motivation.
Nah happy to proven wrong, well and truly.
I can't remember a better performance since 2011.
A few points...I thought Tui was poor, if he's been working on his reaction times it sure isn't showing! He gets dragged back in-goal way too easily with his body height when taking a tackle. Also, I have no idea what he thinks he's achieving with his jinks on the spot but the opposition isn't fussed. Nice kick to force the repeat set, otherwise a decidedly average match from him. Why he decided to double pump that pass when we had the 4 man overlap is beyond me, all it did was give Hayne the opportunity to knock it down.
Thought Vete, Matulino, Bodene, Hoffman played well.
Roache looks a cut above
Tevaga. Not a fan of the way
Tevaga lies around the ruck and gets penalised at dumb times, also some of his dummy half passes looked forward and lazy.
Simon is a colossus.
Fusi and Kata and again played well, epic fend from Kata. Though why he then ran the ball into the corner when we don't have a kicker....that wasn't the smartest. Manu had a few good carries but man those errors inside our half are just unforgiveable. They're not the same as errors on attack on the opposition's try line, his error led to back-to-back Titans sets of 6 and completely shifts the momentum.
But yeah, overall there wasn't anyone who wasn't trying their guts out. I can't remember us ever defending our line better than that. We looked absolutely fucked on occasions but noone dropped their head or slipped off half-arsed tackles, there were bodies piling in from all directions in desperation.
Kudos to Cappy for finally using his 17th man, must feel like losing his virginity all over again.
Also, Hayne was awesome for first game back after a couple of years out. Looked dangerous, played smart football, and produced 2 try saving moments combined with the bombs and short kick-offs etc. Would've been a bigger scoreline without him.
