Reckon he will name a 8 man bench for this one, all the injured players returning alongside last weeks team.

And Wright, as Ayshford cover and just to fan the flames.

Come game day, would want 3 true forwards on the bench and Tevaga who can play alongside Luke whereas Roache really can’t.

Bit of a slow learner McFadden, hopefully he’s got to the point where he realises a back on the bench is more trouble than its worth.

Need a full strength team to knock over the raiders, will have a hard time holding them to less than 20.

Playing the video from New Plymouth on a loop should be enough motivation.

Interestingly defence has gotten pretty solid of late, titans 2 tries off kicks, manly a 1 on 1 miss, sharks held to not much. Always a chance if that continues.

I see Big Jim has said that Tui is here long term and a replacement for Thomas hence that is why they have let Thomas go a year early. If that's the case and I think it is best to put Tui to 6 now ( for Canberra) and for the rest of the season. We won't win the comp this year with Thomas at 6 so we might as well bite the bullet and get Tui some practice for next year.
Hell who knows we might start playing a bit more creatively and consistently and it also solves the problem of where to start Tui.Thomas to be injury back up only.He doesn't offer enough imo.

Queensland prop Jacob Lillyman comes into the front row for Charlie Gubb in the only line-up change for the Vodafone Warriors’ 20th-round NRL clash against the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium on Saturday (3.00pm kick-off local time; 5.00pm NZT).
Lillyman, who’ll be making his 223rd career appearance, picked up an ankle injury in the third and final State of Origin match ruling him out of the long-haul away game against Manly in Perth last Saturday.
Gubb will miss this week’s encounter with the Raiders after landing a grade two shoulder charge in the 14-15 golden point loss to the Sea Eagles. The Vodafone Warriors will dispute the grading at a judiciary hearing in Sydney tomorrow night.
Lillyman has been named to start alongside James Gavet while senior prop Ben Matulino is again listed to come off the bench, which he did so effectively against Manly when he carried the ball 19 times for 146 metres.
Matulino is on an unchanged bench alongside Tuimoala Lolohea, Sam Lisone and Jazz Tevaga.
The Vodafone Warriors have won their last two matches in Canberra – 54-18 in 2014 and 18-6 in 2015 – but head coach Andrew McFadden is taking little notice of those results as he prepares to shape up to his old club again.
“The Raiders are on the rise and are playing some really good football at the moment so it’s going to be a good test for us,” he said.
“There was lots of disappointment for us losing to Manly. We played fairly well I thought. We started slowly and that probably cost us in the end.
“We built ourselves into the game but we just couldn’t come up with that final blow in what were difficult conditions.”
While Lillyman will return the injury news on Bodene Thompson (ankle) and Albert Vete (hamstring) is mixed. McFadden said Vete isn’t a chance but there’s a possibility that Thompson may recover.
McFadden today reiterated the Vodafone Warriors’ commitment to Lolohea, who has been the subject of discussion in the past few days after limited game time in Perth.
“I’m very committed to Tui and his position with the club,” he said.
“I know the circumstances at the weekend weren’t ideal for him but we’ve got a lot of faith in Tui and he’ll get game time this weekend.
“We’ve got him on contract until 2018 so he’s going to be very valuable to the club.
“Certainly his best position is probably in the halves and we’ve got to keep developing him but at the moment our two halves Shaun (Johnson) and Tommy (Leuluai) are going really well for us.”
Eyeing this critical clash, the Vodafone Warriors are eighth on the ladder on 20 points five points behind fifth-placed Canberra.
While the last two trips have been successful the overall record at GIO Stadium is strongly weighted in Canberra’s favour, which has 11 wins in 14 encounters at the ground.
Overall the Raiders edge the Vodafone Warriors 18-17 in 35 meetings since 1995.

Yep, definitely taking the piss...

I know the run in team could and probably will change but to send this out there with all the attention it's received is thumbing the nose or taking the piss.

Surely against the biggest pack in the comp we'd take some size....

Sipley seems to have fallen off the horizon.

The Raiders are bullies up front. I'm a bit concerned about Jazz and Tui on the bench again, Lisone too. Very lightweight. Bench may be the difference in this one, they will be hard to beat in Canberra

Thought we'd beat Manly and lose to the Raiders; I hope I go 0/2

Cappy confirms Big Jims comments about future of Tui at 6 but wants to "continue his development at 6" by playing him at Wing/fullback/bench utility/bench warmer spare part. What a load of crap.
Not to mention still not having four big forwards on the bench.Cappy is either stupid or stubborn or both.
I am 50/50 at the moment on Cappy but if they don't win this week I am changing to the get rid of him crew.
If it works out this week great if not Cappy you are a knob.

Must win.

It's poetic that the two most important games of the season, are the next two, against two clubs who came over here and utterly embarrassed us and are also our biggest challengers for the top 8.

If we win the next two, I think we make the 8 - lose either of them, and we're gone.

outside chance of Bodene playing, he'll be assessed at the end of the week according to the Cappy interview. If that's the case Bunty should take up Jazz's spot on the bench.

Predictable and close to the side I named a couple of days ago barring Vete whose still unavailable through injury.

That's a lightweight bench to go up against one of the biggest forward packs in the comp.

Yeah that's my gut reaction too. When I saw the post-bye draw I said we'd have to win 2 of the 3 games directly after to stay in touch. We've lost the Manly game, which now leaves us having to win away in Canberra. If we lose this weekend that's almost curtains I reckon.

Bunty should take Tui's place on the bench, that's if we wanted to be in line with current and traditional use of the bench. A combination of 3 props/backrowers and a hooker...not 2 props, a hooker and winger who plays 30 seconds.

I've heard Bodene has about a 30% chance of being okay by this weekend.

I'd prefer three forwards on the bench and either Tui or Jazz - not both. Also, those calling for Tui on one wing have short memories... last time he was there, he had to keep swapping with Fusitua when close to the line because of concerns he'd be out jumped.
