I am starting to think a drubbing might be good. Then JD will have the excuse to do something and spare us the suffering.

Canterbury five-eighth Josh Reynolds was taken to hospital after Thursday night's win against Penrith struggling to breathe following a heavy tackle from Dean Whare.

Reynolds is expected to recover in time for Friday night's blockbuster against arch rivals Parramatta, however there were fears for his health after the collision left him feeling sick at Pepper Stadium on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs No.6 was taken straight to hospital after he noticed blood in his urine following the nail-biting victory, but has since been cleared of serious injury.

"After the game I couldn't really move," Reynolds told Fairfax Media.

"They were a bit worried I had done something to my spleen. So I went to hospital and did all sorts of tests. What they were worried about was that there was a bit of blood in my urine.

"That's obviously got something to do with the spleen. But I got the results and it was just the impact of the hit. It's all clear now, just a bit sore in the back."

Reynolds copped the heavy knock after turning his back to the defensive line to catch a pass, allowing Whare to square him and drive straight into his back while the playmaker was unaware.

David Klemmer and his teammates tried arguing with the referee about the challenge, however Reynolds insists he had no issue with the tackle from the Kiwi international.

"There was nothing wrong with it. People say my back was turned, but what's he going to do, stop and not hit me?," Reynolds said.

"It was all fine mate. It was just an awesome pass from my mate Tim Browne, who set it up for me to get smashed. It was just a good hit and obviously I wasn't braced for it.

"I've never been hit that hard in my life, nowhere near it. I couldn't breathe properly. I felt crook straight away. He must have hit me pretty hard. I've never felt like that before. I went to the hospital straight after the game. They wanted to make sure there was no major damage.

"But I was over it. Me and our physio, we ended up leaving at about 4am. It was just such a long night. I'm a bit sore but I should be fine for the game against Parra."

Cappy must be very thankful for the dragons at the moment, exhibit A that trials can mean whatever you want them to mean.

Our spine is struggling, but we have a sort of excuse, theirs is self-inflicted, what is the point of trying to turn Dugan into a centre exactly? They were very poor yesterday.

Il say it again why did the experts thing Manly where a top 4 side. Their recruitment was nothing but average first grade players and they've got a rookie coach.

Team looked good on paper, lots of "name" players.
Marty Tapau must be frustrating to follow, does nothing much, then make these barnstorming line breaks every so often.
Tigers defence no good, could be a high scoring 2nd half

Taupau is only good coming off the bench when the starting forwards have layed the platform. e.g. When he comes off the bench for the Kiwis.

Last season he was average for the Tigers and only plays limited minutes 40-50 minutes at best.

Lewis Brown is a solid first grader, he's not going to win you a game.

Nate Myles yes he is a SOO representative but that's more to do with Queensland's selection policy off choosing the incumbent rather than actual form.

Dylan Walker is a centre playing out of position at 6. He's a runner not a creator.

Korisau and Parcell are running dummy halves who only make any real impact when their forwards are dominating.

Trent Barrett is a rookie coach, whose only real coaching experince as a head coach is coaching in the meaningless city/country game

In saying that they'll win this game, Tigers cannot defend.

Enjoying this game.
Tigers outside backs making some Manly campaigners like Matai and Lyon look average...which is kind of a relief after what they did last week to us.

Every year there seems to be a side that isn't expected to do well that ends up winning their first few games. The challenge in this comp is sustaining.

Last year it was the Knights with 3-4 wins. The Tigers look to be doing it this year.

Of course our crap luck we played both of them.:(

We might be the cure all that gets crap teams feeling good about themselves. They'll be petitioning the NRL from all over to get the worries first up in 2017.

Who flow out of the line.that was a Manu play

Taufua. Manly missing Foran's defence on that side of the field. Walker average on defence and that's shown by Matai and Taufua rushing in to make the tackle.

So much for our hopes of playing at home for round 1 one year.:(

As much I think the Daily Telegraph is anti league I do like how they usually critique the round 1 crowds and point out the overall average would be higher if we played at home. That was back when we played our first home game of the year at Eden Park. But we surely would have got a decent crown round 1 with people wanting to see our new recruits and feeling positive for the new season.
