Wright over Allwood :bored:

Pretty much what we were thinking. Can see Mannering play with Palavi moving to the bench for Lane.

Good team. More or less exactly what I thought... Aside from two notable exceptions - real harsh on Allwood, no way Wright should be ahead of him based on that last game. I'd persons, lot be running with Fusitua in the right and Allwood on the left. The other one I question is Lane, who I honestly thought looked so bad agains the Dragons... So slow, so cumbersome. Would have had Tof ahead of him at least. Really glad Cappy showed the balls to start Jazz - brave call.

Bodene and Mutts better bring the fire, it's the very least their teammates deserve.

Lane had a mixed bag over the weekend in the Residents game too. Nice things on defense but made a couple of silly errors with the ball.

For all the question marks we had about the team when you look at the team list it's fairly straight forward. Mannering coming in for Lane is the only possible late change I can se happening.

I hope TL plays well. I'd still prefer Lolohea at half and Fusitua fullback, but TL has to be there somewhere so what other choice did we have?

Not surprised Mannering hasn't made it back in time, that was fairly nasty injury.

Glad to see Palavi get another run at lock, both he and Tevaga worked well together on defense against the Drags, Palavi's particularly good at wrapping the ball up and getting players on their backs which will be important against the Panthers with their offloading game.

Tui back at fullback - conservative but understandable

Let's hope our middles stand up like they did against the Dragons, just reward for a lot of players from that game.

Happy with Wright and Lane having another crack. On the whole a good team imo . Now let's see them do the business.

Largely happy with that team. Hurrell and Vatuvei obviously only training with first team at this stage. Matulino and Thompson probably not too big an issue to bring back. into the team... Only wish Lolohea was at 6 with Leuluai coming off the bench and Fusitua at fullback with Allwood on the wing. Allwood was much better then Wright against Dragons so a bit surprised he is the one to be dropped

Good work Cappy. Manners in if he's fit by Saturday.
Good chance to rotate Jazz in the loose and give Bully 60 minutes.

I can see reasoning behind every decision except Wright. He's not good enough.

Same. My only guess is that Fusitua and Allwood aren't capable of playing on Wright's side of the field. That is a legitimate issue for some players - I remember Daniel Vidot saying that being switched from left to right (or vice versa) had an effect on his stepping.

Either way, pretty much the team I expected. I'm somewhat disappointed the Tui isn't at 5/8th since that's supposedly where his future is, but I can see the logic in wanting to fit TL, Luke and Tevaga all into the team. This is the only real way to achieve that.

Allwood played on the left last game right? Pretty sure Mamaulo also did in previous games before.

edit: also...wright has no stepping game so....=P

Lillyman plays better off the bench. Whether he is off bench or starts Matulino plays at about the same level. Why we keep swapping these this I dont understand.

I can see the thinking behind the selections - not that I agree with all of them.... but my thoughts will make absolutely no difference to what happens against the Panthers... The players thoughts and attitudes will though and I'd like to see even more from them than we did against the Dragons.

I cannot, the Warriors have never been any better with him in the halves.. and this is a version of him that hasnt played much/any footy for a year
