Also, anyone else feeling like this year could be a 2001 type of year...and we all know how far we went the next year...

Just looking at this side and making some comparisons. We have plenty of young guys who have now had a year or more under their belts and continuing to improve. A coach who is yet to prove himself but has his back up against the wall. A couple of older but solid forwards (although I am in the camp of believing we need another big bopper to bend the line). I can see some comparisons between Ayshford and Carlaw. A very talented half in Shaun Johnson, who could possibly go down as one of our best. I just think this year we are going to have some ups and downs and scrape in there, but next year (as hard as that is to say and think) is going to be the year to do the damage.

Anyways that is the way it is feeling to me at this point.

I'd be making a comparison to 2010. Lost some games we shouldn't. Won some games we shouldn't. Built nicely and fell in week 1 of the finals. I'd be content with that this year. Obviously want to get as far as possible but 4 seasons in a row without finals footy - have to start somewhere.

And my point is u dont know whats being said or by who. What if it was from one of the support staff in auckland asking Manu how Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is after coming off, would that be ok or is it still a bad look?

Manu is a player not playing, not a paid spectator. Holding him to some imaginary standard is nuts.
Not an imaginary standard. Just interested in how his team is doing. From memory, I believe Manu and the other players make phone calls in the pre-season asking us to support the Warriors. Wouldn't think that Manu is the medical intermediary to communicate Roger Tuivasa-Sheck condition. I just think that Manu always gets a pass and an excuse, whereas others are held accountable. And given that the players look up to Manu...

Ok Manu is bad. Such a naughty boy! Take his phone off him and send Him to his room!

Give it a rest!

No, I wouldn't send him to his room. He's an adult. How about he can't use the phone until he plays again?

I've been in the corporate areas at Mt Smart a couple of times over the years and seen other players not required or injured not being very interested in the game being played. One, a certain FB currently applying for jobs in Australia, was far more interested in collecting phone numbers.

At least if Manu, was doing something more "social" than the game, he had the good sense to do it in what he thought was the privacy of the locker room.

That's my point. It's your team! Be interested. We are. Who's the FB? These guys need to be called out. Not just Manu.

From the description, I would assume a certain player who left the warriors in about 2014...

I can neither confirm or deny - but I have liked your post to let you know you're heading in the right direction ;)

Kevin Locke? BTW, isn't there some rule against players (was Manu a player if he was injured) getting on their cell phones during games due to betting?

Here's my rule: If the Warriors are playing, the injured (and non-injured Warriors have to watch them play. I know it's a big sacrifice, but with some proper motivation, I think it's doable.

Ok so u insist on seeing him doing something bad, but have no idea what. I can sit here all day and counter with positives, like it was a text to Roger Tuivasa-Sheck misses saying hes down and could use a quick call. But the reality is i know as much as u. Nothing. I chose not to demonise the guy sitting in a back room, watching a tv, for not being on point, during a stopage in play. Do u see why i think ur going over the top?

There are rules about players and staff not placing bets, and a player still having an active part to play during a game shouldn't be allowed to use a phone but I certainly wouldn't think would extend to a player not involved with the game.

Pure conjecture but perhaps Manu was actually in contact with someone associated with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck became Roger Tuivasa-Sheck wasn't able to use a phone as the game was still on. Or Manu was texting goodnight to his kids? Or perhaps we just don't need to know. And no, I'm not saying that just because it was Manu.... I'd say it about any player not involved with a game.
