So just waiting for the train in Brisbane and just bummed by this loss here my takeaways.

Luke was terrific first 45/50 mins last 35 not so much looks real unfit instance being warriors coming out of there own in goal and he is just standing at the 20 waiting for the boys to run toward him that was pretty pathetic and just an summary of an current attitude.

The Left hand side on attack and defend is pretty atrocious no punch on the edges and Defense is just stand there and watch the attack from my view it looks like no one communicates and knows when to move.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck have to commend him For his effort 27 Runs no FB should have to do that much work it takes away from his game feel for the dude doing that much work esp out of his end zone.

Attack is far too left to right and attackers are too deep need to offer hole runners and straight line runners to question the Defense. Only real guys that offer that is Gavet and Matulino

Overall the effort was better this week but still some major issues that need to be worked on and I don't see them getting fixed 1-2 weeks there some changes that need to be made.

Because they both know it's the end of the line for them...........see ya Crappy

Personally dont think a new coach would have made much difference. If we had to get a new coach it should have been done at end of last season. I feel sorry for whoever inherits this disinterested lot.

Yeah I should have said established Storm first grade player then. Maloney was a back up on peanuts that we took a gamble on.

Of the established players that we've taken from them, I'm struggling to think of good one. Bellamy seems to know when those players are past their use by date as well.
Tony Martin

Anyone for Mark Hunt has a mentor need some heart go into the deep dark rounds of mma.hurrell next week please

So just about every player in the team has been named by a "fan" as being mud.
I thought we had a good crack.
Much improved in d.
Can't believe Manu is getting bagged...apart from getting injured he didn't do anything wrong.
Robson had a go but TL will jump straight in.
Hoffman was crap.
Brodine gets better every week.
Kata improved.
We love playing the Storm...bring it.

Yeah I'm optimistic.

Reasons:

Luke just needs to improve his fitness. His strength at the try line already paying dividends. As is his kicking-takes pressure off Shaun Johnson and is flatter than Shaun Johnson. He complements him.

Kata's defence was OK. If he keeps improving I might keep him on. I won'the be convinced until he succeeds against bigger centres but I'mean willing to persevere. He and Manu are invaluable running the ball out from the line.

Hurrell should come back in. His penetration will push the defence back on their heels and allow the spine to run with momentum.

When Fusitua is fit he should be right wing. Try Lolohea at 6 with Shaun Johnson 7. Leuluai would be great but our liabilities injury-wise: Vatuvei and himself have limited game time left.

Lolohea was put in at the deep end in the English tour-with Shaun Johnson and Luke kicking he will have more time to attack.

Lilyman has been on the wane for a couple of seasons. But he might be real valuable come finals. However Vete should be in to keep him honest. He needs a reminder.

Lisone and Gavet give it heaps. RFM and Roache make an impact.

By round 13 I think we'll be mid-table and the attack will be clicking. Just have faith!

The problem is we've had 17 years of being told that changes in personnel will mean we have to wait. How come other clubs cope with change better?

They can defend their way to wins when attack isn't going their way.

The Broncos are a perfect example. Last year they started the season by getting hammered by Souths and then played out one of the worst possible games of league I've ever seen, BUT they got the win. It took awhile for the Milford/Hunt combo to click as well, but defense got them wins along the way.

Much better effort this week but it looked like they expended too much energy early and gassed themselves. Combined with the two injuries, this enabled the Broncos to grind their way to the win.

I hope Ayshford is alright because he has been reasonably sound in defense (by Warrior standards). Manu looks like he will be out for at least a few weeks and it was noticeable how much we struggled to get out of our end after he left the field. I would say that McFadden will bring in Wright to replace him. I don't agree with this but McFadden is obsessed with picking players who are defensively capable, which makes sense because its worked so well recently.

The more and more I look at the complete shambles that is our left edge defense, the more and more I think the problem lies on the inside, particularly with Hoffman. This was highlighted by the Gillett try where Hoffman had meandered in field and was actually in front of Mannering in the defensive line. I don't know why he had gone in field (Mannering certainly doesn't need assistance on defense, particularly when everyone is marked up on their man) but it left Robson is no mans land and created a huge hole. Certainly the centre and wing on that side cannot be absolved of blame but some of Hoffman and Robsons work is suspect at best and they are supposed to be the experience holding things together.

Johnson looks like he's being overcoached or, at least, being told to do more things than is necessary. Johnsons greatest asset is the ability to read whats in front of him and a couple of times tonight it looked he passed or kicked because he had been told to, rather than reacting to the situation. Maybe he was doing what came naturally and was just getting it horribly wrong. He also barely ran the ball, which is what he does a lot of when playing well. Changing to the six jersey was supposed to free he up but considering how we were fairly dominant (for the first 50 mins anyway) and he didn't run the ball at all tends to suggest he is restricted by something.

For those surprised by Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's defensive misses, you only have to look at the stark contrast between the Roosters and Warriors. Very rarely would Roger Tuivasa-Sheck have been exposed to teams waltzing through the Roosters line and the ball carrier having so many options to pass to. This is exactly what he saw tonight and will probably continue to see. Obviously he should probably being making those tackles but the poor guy is probably in shock from how bad our defense really is. He also looks lost on attack but, once again, he has lost options on the edges compared to at the roosters. Ayshford and Kata hardly compare to Ferguson and Jennings, and those two would have offered more threat for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to work with last year. This, in itself, is an argument for having Konrad in the team - to give more options on the edges.

I'd like to be more positive but its difficult with the sense of inevitability surrounding the team at the moment.

There's something missing with this team. I cant put my finger on it but everyone looks so pedestrian on the field. No sense of urgency or hunger. Its just an odd dynamic at the moment. Is it the coach? a lack of leadership on the field? I don't know but we need more change or it will be the same shit ass house conversation week in and week out for the next 6 months...

The brain/mind, can only take so much. EG. loss after loss takes it's toll on your head space. Before you realize it, you begin to suffer physically and mentally

Yes much improved from last week, however, IL looks so unfit, Shaun Johnson is NOT a 6 when paired with Robbo, I thought he was, but he needs to have his hands on the ball more. I stuck my head out and went with Robo to pair with Shaun Johnson, dam was I wrong, the guy looks so slow, and old.

Unless JD steps in now, by sacking cappy and his staff, this season will be beyond repair. You just simply can't play catch up in the NRL. plus our for and against needs to be positive, not negative if we are to stand a chance of making the 8. FFS get Ivan, Toovey, before we miss out on them both.

God dam it, EVERYONE is picking us, or had picked us to be top 4 this season, with our line up on paper. We have lost the two first rounds, we are steering down a 10 game losing streak, so why the hell is it taking JD so bloody long to get rid of this guy. FFS man, open your bloody eyes, he is simply NOT UP TO COACHING US.

WE SUX..........right now.

The only good thing to come out of it was Manu is out injured, thank fuck for that. Sorry to all the Manu fans, but just to many up's and downs with his form for me, love the guy's heart, but he gives me the shit's everytime he touchs the ball........sorry I mean DROPS the ball.

My main gripe with Robbo are those fucking dummy and run options he takes. He looks like he's moving in bullet time as if he's in the Matrix except nobody else is slowing down around him.

Kata/Manu didn't even look like getting the ball tonight other than working it out of our half.

I really can't understand the hate for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.
He's missed a couple of tackles ( tonight's one was a lot worse than last weeks- Simona is hard to stop in that situation) but the guys run for over 400m in 2 games and we want tomkins back?
That's more than tomkins runs in a season and he wouldn't of stopped either of them try's either.
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has run for more meters than any one else in the competition That's farkin awesome.
He's the least of our problems.

Attack is far too left to right and attackers are too deep need to offer hole runners and straight line runners to question the Defense.
Touched on that last week. The Warriors attacking shape is standing far too deep to be effective. The defence simply hold the line and shuffle along. That type of depth is never going to trouble any team. It also removes one of our strike weapons in Roger Tuivasa-Sheck who needs to be hitting that ball much closer to the line. Their set plays need to executed at within 5 metres of the advantage line every time and someone has to take it to the line to hold the sliding defence at bay. Right now they are all running, faking, decoying and relaying all while having lost 10-15 metres.

I am seeing improvements though from last week with the depth and the timing. Right now its all over the place...
