We as fans need to understand that this team will take time, just like any side with this many new players, to click. I remember clearly, Anthony Milford was being torn apart playing at 6, the media giving him no hope and now look at him..give this team time
Something i did notice out there tonight was heart. We were severely under the pump for the remaining 30mins having lost a quarter of our substitutions through injury, which also resulted in a huge reshuffle. We had Kata on the wing. RFM and
Roache defending at centre. Our forward pack really stood up tonight against a hugely talented Bronco's outfit.
I do however, hold mixed emotions. While on one hand I am pleased with the improvement shown compared with last week, i love what
Lisone and Gavet bring to our pack, our sets were starting off fantastic, our edge defence WAS improved until injuries struck, and we stayed in the arm wrestle for most of the match. That final 30 was hard to watch, but our side never gave up, never stopped tackling their hearts out, for that I am happy. Also, Lillyman and Matulino were beasts tonight. Bodene Thompson was my warriors MOM by far..
However.....what the fuck is Luke up to? He is one of our marquee players, yet looks completely disinterested and is a complete shadow of the player I remember!
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck missed a number of crucial tackles tonight, and does not appear to be even close to breaking the line..
shaun johnson didn't take the line on once tonight..and our captain Ryan Hoffman making 73 metres from 12 hitups and 19 tackles in 80mins of football, including two errors..this is not good enough from our experienced captain..lead from the front for god sake - a terrible night.
Overall, an improvement. I knew we would not come away with the two points, but i saw a desire and passion in this warriors team and we were right in it until the injuries struck and resulted in a re-shuffle. This is not an excuse, it is however, understandable.
