I'm against the contrary.
Last week's game left a bad taste in my mouth. Not so much this week.
Defense was improved for the most part, particulary the first 50 Mins of the game. By this, I'm not saying our defense was good - to be fair it was still rather shit, Edges still caused issues - but there was improvement from last week (before Ayshford and Manu went off) - more communication and positing between the middle and outside men.
Issac Luke showed at times what he can bring to this team - before injuries and fatigue we had it over the Broncs forwards. The go-forward off quick play of the balls was the answers to our prayers. Need that all day every day, not just in spurts.
Lolohea was sound. A few silly errors - blame Shaun Johnson - but was very involved. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck injected himself mote too. Need more link play though. Kata too - some big 1 on 1 tackles - Roberts who?
This wasn't an Shaun Johnson game because of how we were playing before the injuries. Didn't need magic, we just we went through the process. Not sure about his repetitive bombing though...
All in all - I'm not worried. Wasn't like we were to introduce 2 players and we automatically become top 4 contenders.
It's about changing the attitude and culture of the team as a whole, tonight showed progress.
Still a long way to go, but a step in the right direction.
