Excited to see Lino play this weekend, Chad may as well pack his bags, watching him play is more frustrating than listening to a des Hasler stuttering interview. All the best Mase!!!

Massive chance for Lino to put his name on the number 6 shirt for next season. Still not been convinced by Lolohea at 7, but hopefully with someone interested alongside him he will show up better.

Yeah I was exceptionally lucky enough today to be at Cornwall Park in Auckland and watch Cowboys put in a practice run and I hate to say it being a NZ Warriors fan but dude did Cowboys look good. From their ball awareness to their ball handling skills to ability play it at speed to just their general communication to each other between plays-these guys have got it all going on !

Mason Lino getting the gig after Chad's injury forced McFraud's hand - I haven't been this excited about the Warriors since *that* try, with Friendy's backflip and Shaun's sidestepping jaw-dropping wonderment. Yee-ha!!!

Mason and Tui tearing up a ripper...bring it on!!!

15hrs 20minutes til kick-off...

Any tactical hints you got from watching? Should have brought a tequila bottle and placed it in the middle with a map to k road and left. By kickoff they would have three at least stood down.

My prediction: 16-40. We'll match them for a good spell, but in the end they'll run away with it. But hey, even matching them for a good spell is way, way better than we've been lately.

I'm sorry i can't agree. If we are hanging our hats on Lino to dig us out of this whole then there is trouble at the mill son. Chad was a standout at under 20 & NSW club player, only difference is Chad has more experience in top side now & Lino doesn't.

I Don't think it's fair throwing Lino into a underperforming side & expect Him to lead them around the park.

I expect a lot of disagrees but not fair on the kid.

I think some of you are going to see the gap between NSW cup and first grade. I'm sure Lino will do his best, but he is in for a tough day. Chad has been playing injured for a number of weeks so doesn't surprise me he is injured for this game. As far as combos between Lolo and Lino, I don't think there will be many opportunities to see it and the U20's doesn't count for much IMO. Cowboys 13+ easy. We will struggle to hold the ball and create any pressure, and they will roll through both sides of us instead of just the right like it has been all season.

Couldn't Have said it better myself!!

Now slightly more interested in this game.

I think there are 2 possible outcomes, Lino does quite well and unequivocally demonstrates how horrific Townsend has been over the past month, or Lino sucks too, and anyone who is tasked with leading these blokes around is on a hiding to nothing.

Also, do we have any other fullback options? How many halves would have to go down before tomkins is placed there?

When Tomkins was signed i wasn't impressed because didn't think he was better than Locke or Fish for the $$, But then I thought wait a minute maybe these guys are on to something, They have signed him as a halve. With years of not being able to find 2 quality halves he might work there. The Fact he has never played there is beyond believe & with Johnson out staggering. He plays like a halve from fullback but does get his hands on the ball enough back there & his kick return is terrible. I bet other club faced with the same problems would have him in the halves.

Chad has been great most of the year people are quick to forget. As soon as he announced he was leaving it was like watching a James Maloney Replay.

I'm expecting Tui to lead the boys around the park, with Lino being the steadying hand a.k.a sticking to the basics. Hopefully his kicking game translates into the big time.

Either way, not expecting much but history says that's when the Warriors surprise us the most.

There was this one thing I heard their coach Paul Green say about how he doesn't mind if they get to poke their head out front he just wants you tell your other players that's you intention too. That he wants them to all cut back on individual plays and stick to completing their sets it's only way we can wear opposition down. Hearing all that I expect clinical game from Cowboys today, way more clinical than what we used seeing. I wouldn't be surprise once they tire us out with their precision that they do bring back individual brilliance and just score try after try after try. Oh dear God Sweet lord we are so fucked ...

Agree it's not fair but with the injuries we have and our depth it's pretty much our only choice. We either disrupt the team further and put Tomkins in the halves and find another fullback or bring in a half and play with the two youngsters.

Hopefully the others realise the huge task he has in front of him and step up.

Good luck to Lino for his debut it's unfortunate he needs to come into a side down on confidence instead of an opportunity in a team that is performing well. But that's life unfortunately you have to take your opportunities when they are given to you.
