NZ Warriors 14 vs 18 Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks

NRLRd22WarriorsvSharksrQFnUAboPh4x

Thoughts?

Man of the Match?
Big question is, how did Tuimoala Lolohea go?
Our big power backs go well?
Did they get the sets off to a good start?
How was Ben Matulino and Simon Mannering on the edges?
Sebastine Ikahihifo hold it down in the middle?
Did the bench have the desired effect? Charlie Gubb? Sam Lisone? Raymond Faitala-Mariner?

So fucking angry at that performance! Not because we lost, but because every time we had attacking field position, we sent it through our edge backrowers hoping to crash over, so much for not changing the game plan cappy, you minge, didn't once see us try to free our outside backs, and what was the point of changing sides with kata and Konnie? Did nothing except ruin our edge defence... Fucksake

Vete went well but for some reason didn't play a lot of minutes and thought Gubbie was good. RFM missed a pivotal tackle which lead to a try and Lisone went ok.

I was driving at the start of the 2nd half and it sounded like the Sharks were robbed of a try, was that right?

Our game plan in the first half was outstanding, but in the second half we quit the power game and just relaxed... Too much faith?

It's a game of two halves and we only played one tonight...

I think more cautious optimism and less out and out certainty is the key... If we continue hitting the line hard and working our outside backs power game we win...

I'm not too disappointed with the loss since our season's not going anywhere anyway with Johnson out.

Good to see Tui get a game in the halves, his kicking game isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Manu is still making really bad defensive reads. Vete one of our best again and good to see Lisone's aggression in the team. RFM looked decent coming off the bench aside from that missed tackle on Tagatese. Chad and Tomkins failed to step up. Havili was good with his time on the field.

It was obvious how much structure and leadership we lost without Johnson. So many times I could imagine that he'd just burst through the line with ease. Thompson was a big loss. Keen to see the Hoff back next week hopefully

Mentally weak again as always

o_O

I would have though having players who can't position themselves, anticipate or make definitive defensive decisions contributed more to that.

Kinda what I was expecting- we had good go forward but no points in us without Shaun Johnson.
Mind u I lost count of how many forward passes the sharks threw and a couple of our disallowed tries would've been tries if they had been sent up that way.

Our attack in my view lost us the game.
Nearly every attacking set was down the right side which brought us sfa.
On the left side in attack we had 2 attacking weapons in Konnie and Manu who caught a cold.
The game plan was perhaps for Ben to get a pop pass away to Kata or Ken.
It didnt happen but I,m not being critical of Ben.
This is a game we could have won the coach decided we play via Townsend and the right side all day and it didnt work.
Roll on 2015.
Nice game from our forwards and I thought Haviili played good.

??? Not that I recall. They threw a blatant forward pass to Holmes which Tui saved with a last ditch ankle tap. They then scored of their next set.

Comms on radio pointed out one of the tries was the result of a really poor effort from RFM, it reminded me of some of his efforts on the edges in his first match and the last few weeks. They pointed out he doesnt put his shoulder into the tackle and grabs with his hands

One thing about the Roosters is that they earn their victories through hard work on the field... We seem to want to steal victory on the back of some lazy effort..

Not really a winning strategy..

Why did the centres switch sides in a team already full of changes? I just think that's retarded neither Kata or Konnie looked completely comfortable. Also totally agree we kept going to our edge forwards close to the line why werent we going to our strike players which would have been even better if they were playing on their right sides of the field!!

Can't believe we lost that game. We are done for yet another season. Tomkins lacks any sort of authority from the back, can't wait for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck kick returns to get some impetus to our sets. People were bemoaning Fish last week for his early set hit ups but he is far more dangerous on a kick return than Tomkins and then we would play Tomkins in the halves and get rid of Townsend who while I used to be a supporter is just a waste of space as he proved tonight. Awful game.

It went upstairs so it must have been close (it was denied by the video ref, the comms were saying 'wtf, that was a try' (nz comms)), it wouldnt have been a forward pass because they dont rule on that.

What the hell was said to them at half time that made them so inept in the second half?
