Best our attack has looked all season with multiple threats all over the park. 18 offloads and whats more people in support and pushing up with the play. Amazing how much not turning the ball over and using up energy on defence makes to our attacking structures.

Loved Gubb's D. He just levels them (mostly around the legs too). Like Mannering looks a very good 1 on 1 tackler. His hit on Frank Paul was epic. (Though Matai's hit on Tyrell last night still takes the cake)

Halves very good composure taking good options off the back of good go forward. Shaun Johnson with that extra x factor gives us an edge over most. Tomkins another ball player definitely helps.

My only gripe (c'mon what's the point of having this forum if some sad bugger cant have a moan) is how long it took Friend to clear the ball on occasions. 3 or 4 times by my reckoning on the last tackle he got caught or put pressure on our kickers with a rushed play by holding on a fraction too long.

That said very happy. A great completion rate 2 weeks in a row now means we can finally get some momentum into our season. I'm hating we have the bye next week actually...let's not stop our roll!

Shaun Johnson seems to be pulling finger in the last few weeks. Running the ball more, taking the lead role, even defensively he is making a lot more tackles than previously.

He's been above average to excellent since round three imo. His forms been on an upward trend almost all year, it's just more obvious since the test because the Kiwi's were excellent and the Warriors as a team have been on the improve around him. It's hard to be a diamond while you're surrounded by turds, which was the case for Johnson for quite a few weeks.

unless we have an injury im guessing thats the end of Havilli. cant see us carrying a specialist hooker just for injury cover
He might lose his place in the second team if they win without him. Why is he not fit enough to play a full 80? Lazy trainer or was he injured preseason?

did you happen to watch NSW cup today? nathanial roach(i think thats his name) played really really well. no where near first grade but id rather invest in him than havilli

as for why hes not fit? i cant tell you.... maybe its an attitude thing where hes not mentally fit

Nathaniel Roache has a big future at the club. Was leading the way with Nathan Friend during preseason. Got the right attitude and has Steve Price as a mentor. Definitely one to keep an eye on...

Um no. He has certainly been back to close go his best in recent weeks but has ben well of the pace previously. I hope this form continues as the forwards have busted their ass all season for him and he is finally producing. His defensive stats are quite telling in terms of him wanting to get involved. Single digit number of tackles for games some times and last few weeks up around the late teens. He is involving himself more and more and, I guess at the right end of the season too.

Give you the recipe if you like, first you watch chop the veges, then you watch the Holden cup team, then you boil the stock, then you watch the reserve grade, it's quite the time consuming process...

stop making soup then, sounds like too much effort - lol

Okay bro. You can watch the defensive stats all you want. I'll look at the plays he's been putting on and attempting to put on. Most halves in the NRL are piss poor on defense. It's just not a good way to measure their involvement. Even the mightly Thurston is a poor defender.

Another thing that won't come up much through stats is his kicking game. There have been several games where Shaun Johnson's (and Chad's) kicking has saved us from having our arses utterly whipped. I'm not saying Shaun Johnson's been amazing all year, because he hasn't, but a lot of people are underrating the things he has been doing, even while the whole team has looked miserable.

Less Vete & Lisone, More Gubb and RFM.
That's a tough one but I thought Gubb was excellent 2 weeks running tbh wasn't really a fan of Gubb after last years game against the Bulldogs where he got put on his arse a few times by graham. We need more defenders like Gubb we have enough attacking weapons I hope we don't don't keep wasting that bench spot though

NZ Warriors Press conference is up.

Just a warning that it's extra special ten minutes long which should give Euderbrito enough time to lick his spoon ... ;)
