I do wonder if Surfin, Matiunz and Bruce would be this bent out of shape if this was occurring within the National party.
On sexual assault? Most definitely. Just wait and see what happens if they mention the Destiny Church again.

Middle age men, even old men don't fall for Jacinta. Learn't from their mistakes. The rest will catch up eventually.

I especially like those middle age men who get all wound up, yet can't spell her name correctly. They're a special breed.

Well what do you expect? She could have be named Helen, Jenny , Ruth or John and her name may have been spelt correctly.

I didn't see you pass comment at all when National were covering up their sexual assault scandal.
Was that good leadership and handled better then the Labour scandal?
Did the labour assaults happen in parliament?
What was the result of the National review into MPs behaviour? Oh thats right swept under the carpet. Very transparent.

You do realise how fake this comes across when you weren't concerned one bit when it was a National MP sexually harassing people in Parliament.

What are you even going on about? Is the person/people you are referring to re offending still in parliament? Are the people you claim were harassed going to the opposition party (Labour) and the media claiming the same things the people at the centre of the Labour shit storm are? If it happened and the people affected didn't get the outcome they thought they deserved come forward and state that, I'll be perfectly happy for the police to look into it, until that happens you are voicing outrage over something that currently exists in your mind alone.

Unemployment down. The Economy Growing. A bigger surplus then forecast.
The way you numpties were carrying after the election I thought we'd be bankrupt by now.

Oh and we have a PM that is admired overseas and not made funny of on US network TV.

Being admired overseas doesn't house the homeless or help the economy, "not being made funny of" also doesn't improve the mental health issues, to save you time I agree National may not have made any significant changes either, but they also didn't claim they would, as far as I can see, Labour are still waiting for all the focus groups to get back to them.

What I am saying is the Labour scandal has already had two more resignations then the Jamie Lee Ross harassment ever did.
Paula Bennett (with Bridges) was on tape asking JLR to stand down on medical leave so they could sweep that under the carpet.

So by your reckoning Bridges, Bennett and Arden should all be gone.

What I am also saying is you are pretending so be shocked because it suits your political bias. It's pretty obvious.

What do I expect? I usually expect people who engage in political discussions to have the mental capacity to spell the PM's name correctly.

Again what is your point, the Labour scandal has already had two resignations because just maybe those people should have resigned, asking someone to stand down, for what ever reason is not actually dodgy, as for JLR, suffering very obvious mental health problems probably justified his stepping down. But again my point is there are no actual complainants pushing the "scandal" you have such a focus on. If some come forward by all means follow it up.

I'm not pretending anything. Jacinda made a big deal about being the most transparent government we will ever have, in actual fact that this not even close and the more she opens her mouth the more she paints herself into a corner. I don't have to do a thing to prove her naivety and lack of substance, her refusal to front the media or answer questions about anything other than fluff proves it well enough. But like I said yesterday she'll be able to get this Twitter thing out there shortly and hopefully the international media won't bother her with questions about the shit storm in NZ.

Well if the economy wasn’t growing then we would be in a recession - and the odds of that happening are growing every day. This country needs fiscal stimulus badly however Labour haven’t got a clue how to implement it effectively.

When you point out typos as proof of intelligence, you should be damn sure that you yourself don't make spelling or grammatical errors, otherwise you may find yourself being included in the "special breed" group.
Myself I type like a chimp wearing boxing gloves but WTF.

A couple of things.

She fluked it into the part leadership because at the last minute the incumbent (Little) was getting it so wrong Labour were staring at a drubbing at the polls.

She was not elected to the job. Winston Peters did that for her.

Winston has now vanished. Maybe to keep well clear of her to give his party (of wankers) a chance next time.

She was always shallow, but sort of goofy photogenic and could play the twitter game. Twitter is winning a few elections these days. So she was the media darling, oh shite I forgot, then she got pregnant and had a kid. Heyzeuss spare me, goo goo!!

Then the cruncher, that lunatic shot all those poor people in Christchurch and her goofy photogenic pics with a hijab went viral, even on to the tallest building in the world in Dubai. Heyzeuss spare me a Lotto Powerball couldn't have bought that much airtime.

All that media darling shite even helped blow over her squeeze being outed for extra curricular activity.

So she has been a very lucky young lady...to now.

Now she has been shown to be nothing but a liar, about a very serious sexual assault that from the sounds of it could have turned into a rape. It wasn't a one off either apparently, the dude has history and sounds like a bit of a stroppy bastard.

If she can be believed that she didn't know about the sexual assault, and I don't believe that for a minute, then she is a serious fuckwit that should not be in the job.

The press are after her, even the left wing press, because they know she is stuffed this time and might as well get click bait out of it.

Oh, and as for comparison with Jamie Lee. This is very different. He was having consensual sex with a woman and then had serious mental health problems.,The only thing in common is that it involves sex. Paula Bennett is going to hound her, and fair enough, they have history and it is payback time.

This has nothing to do with the fact that I never have and never will vote Labour. I would have been the same if it was Bridges.

PS: I almost forgot. We seem to be into a recession already, and the only one on that front bench who has more than half a brain is the finance minister, who if he weren't gay would probably be the leader anyway, seems to be the next one for the chop on this. Watch this space, because that is a serious problem IMO.

If it’s anything like the UK, your politicians will largely fall into the following two categories

1 Those who are rich enough not to need employment
2 Those who no -one else would employ
That is becoming a world wide trend. Mind you if you look at Ford, Reagan and Carter...or even Dubbya...they were not the sharpest tools in the box but the "kingmakers" had got them there. Trump is evidence of something very scary happening, all over the world.

I am post this here because it is sort of the politics thread. We talk about various leaders and what they are like. Arguably one of the most controversial, damaging, crazed, pissed, nasty politicians of all time in NZ was Robert Muldoon. Listen to this podcast and find out just one reason why?

I had the pleasure of knowing Justice Mahon personally. He was an incredibly intelligent and polite man. I knew him years before the Erebus disaster and he used to amaze me with his ability to put a lot of meaning into a few words.

So when he said "an orchestrated litany of lies" he meant I have spent weeks listening to a bunch of wankers in suits trying to cover their arses with bullshit, and in doing so insulted the hell out of me thinking I couldn't see through it. ;) ;) ;)

Muldoon, the nasty little bastard put a lot of effort into breaking one of the most distinguished Judges this country has seen. That is a disgrace.

Having said that it appears obvious also that the pilot Jim Collins should not have gone below the Erebus ceiling if he did not know exactly where he was, and he clearly didn't.

The truth is that the Air NZ system was full of holes and poor management and from Muldoon down their intention was to blame the whole lot on pilot error, when as Mahon said it was the airline at fault, they were responsible.

Muldoon was a weird bugger.
There was a patient at Kingseat hospital who used to receive Christmas hamper and a box of chocolates and a hand written Christmas card from Muldoon every year without fail (Forrest Gump before there was a Forrest Gump).

How that came about is a bit of a story, but this bloke I will call Bob.

Bob was a man with an intellectual disability, he worked at a Freezing works in Auckland. Muldoon met him when he took a tour of the freezing works during mass lay offs.

The story goes that Muldoon spotted this hulking man performing a labour intensive job and went over to chat with him. Bob told him he had been at the works his whole working life, and that he was going to lose his job.

Muldoon spoke directly to the works management and said he wanted that man to keep a job and that he would take it as a personal favour if they found a way to keep Bob on. As you know people tended to do what Muldoon asked, and so thereafter Bob would send a thank you letter every year to Muldoon...and Muldoon and Lady Thea would send Bob a Christmas hamper.

Like I say he was a funny bugger like that.
