Internationals Mate Ma'a Tonga

Boys were brutal on Saturday night, ran hard and hit harder on defence, Tui probably had his best game in the red jersey and Taukeiaho is just a beast! Addin Fonua-Blake the same! But I was so impressed with young Niu, Woolf said at the press conference the older players asked staff if they could take Niu to nz in camp as they were impressed with his performance in the 9’s and was a good kid off field.

Looking forward to the game against the Roos, reading online it’s sad to see we still have ‘leaders’ in the Tongan community urging Tongan people to boycott the game at Eden Park, I hope the Red Sea turns up in full force.

Getting Tongan support is the only way the crowd will look semi respectful. One of the stands will be shut down.

This is a very good overview of the current crises in RL, Tonga.
As much as I dislike what I call the turncoats, what they have achieved on the field deserves credit. BUT.. in the background this is just like many instances of impropriety in RL administration littered throughout NZ that discredit our game.

Unfortunately the international administrators have already chosen to chase the money in expelling the TNRL..

I think the Tongan team getting back their top players has been the best thing ever for international league.

I would support the redistribution of stars back to their country of heritage. I would also make match payments come from the international board paid 50:50 to the competing teams players (to eliminate players choosing countries for financial reasons).

I would rather see the kiwis weakened while playing in a globally competitive competition with 8-10 genuinely competitive teams than be the world champion of 4 teams.

This is what the team wanted in the first place. The guys on the "new" board in charge (Kolomatagi etc) were plain stealing so it was the only way. Now a new board will be put in place and MMT can go on from here. Bring on the Kiwi game mid year!!

So the old board was stealing and the new board is allegedly stealing, good luck with the next board which will probably be the old board in new guise while the coach and particularly manager (Hopoate) have friends in the old board but still haven't explained their expenses to the new board now an old board, although now there is another board they won't need to because this new board is actually the like the old board and will happily look the other way. Meanwhile the new board now old board own the rights to MMT so from now on it's the Kau To'a that will be making money for the IRL..

Ask not what you can do for your country; but what your country can do for you
What western people do not get is the Asian concept of corruption. Some Asian languages don't even have a word for corruption, is there one in Tongan? Number one job in Asian culture is to look after your extended family, if that means a bit of skimming who really cares? Note the people who usually complain about it are Asian/Polynesian people with a strong grounding in a western culture.

Great news for Tongan rugby league. If the old Board were stealing money (which there is zero evidence of) and those are the results they have achieved then take the fucking lot! There wouldnt be cent in the game if it wasnt for them. Players have gone from having to pay for their own airfare to being fully sponsored and paid as equals. Long may it continue...

Sounds like the NZRL over the last 30 years...

Yeah the Tongan word for corruption is "Palangi"...............

The aussies for a few weeks now have talked up Koloni Staggs for the blues. But as I understand it everyone playing for Tonga is 100% commited to Tonga. If anyone knows better please tell me.

I thought he was playing for Tonga as well.

The way they bend the rules for being able to move between tier 1 or 2 countries I've got to the point I don't even bother keeping up with it. It also seems flexible for the Australians.
