Regarding the player who may have been betting... I heard a rumour a few months back that one of the current squad has alcohol and gambling issues. Not going to name names, because it was passed on to me third hand and it may be totally unrelated... There are others on this forum with closer links to the team, who may know who I am referring to though.

I am thinking he is just injured. The match fixing must have been a while ago too. Danger hasn't played much first grade recently and when he has, his form has actually been improved.

Does match fixing imply throwing the game? If so then it would have to be player that would be in a position to determine the outcome of a game surely which is really only the halves and maybe the hooker.

Match fixing also includes influencing the outcomes of individual plays which can be profited from.

So if you recall the Cowboys Bulldogs match fix, that was to ensure one team opened the scoring with a penalty goal. The Penalty was given away under the sticks.....both clubs were investigated.

If guilty of match fixing, they should be banned for life.
If they are betting on games they will be deregistered and have to spend at least a year out of all league.
This kind of stupidity is unfathomable for mine. Over and over again guys are told do not gamble on league games. Its a clear rule for all NRL employees and players.
Really hoping its not true. I wouldn't have a clue who it is, but who ever it is, is very, very, very stupid.
