I can't see us winning but please not a thrashing! We have nothing to play for at the moment but pride. I'm looking for huge involvement from C H Tavita, if you dont take this 8 week to improve then maybe we will go into the market for another half or even let johnson back. Please when we are in the redzone and the set goes astray, build on the back of repeat sets!

I don't know whether I've gone full loopy after one win, but I really can't see why we're such heavy underdogs tonight.
I'd rate our backs above theirs (with the obvious exception of DCE) and outside of Addin Fonua-Blake and Taupau I'd actually say our forward pack might have the edge too. Hell, even our bench looks good.
If we can stop the offloads from their big boys, we should go OK.

A gettable game this one, Turbo, Sironen, Thompson and Walker out.
If Chanel Harris-Tavita can kick well, and we can get some momentum in the forwards we'll be right in this. We have a much more mobile forward pack, so we'll either get steam rolled or cause headaches.
Will always be tough going against DCE, especially with our pretty average looking halves.. Hope they prove me wrong.

Tough call this one after all the drama of the last week.
Hopefully with the Brown and Gould announcement there is some certainty for the playing group, a number of whom will now be playing for contracts. May make a difference. We look good on paper but that's the story of our lives. Never underestimate Hasler.
Looking forward to seeing how the halves go without Green, Mad Jack gets a smile on my face. Also looking forward to Gus blowing up totally at the refs and bunker when we get the usual dud calls.

they will run at Chanel Harris-Tavita all night long hopeing to exploit his known weaknesses. its up to hi to prove them wrong. my biggest worry is he will run out of puff at the 60 min mark and then become a turnstile

Prediction - Due to fuck all game time and poor tutoring leading up to this moment Chanel Harris-Tavita doesn't play as well as a world class experienced half would and this forum blows up at how useless he is and how he should be as good as Cooper Cronk/Andrew Johns/ Johnathon Thurston but is clearly so shit from all the amazing coaching he has received from the world class coaches we have had during his time. Forum flooded with "Chanel Harris-Tavita is so shit"
Hope the kid doesn't feel the massive pressure and weight on his shoulders and try to win everyone over in one game. Hopefully the rest the season is used to actually teach him and give him confidence and he gets to operate behind a pack that actually pulls their panties up and digs in. Only then can we see if he has what it takes to be a long term half. Rather than all the experts here judging on the minimal time off the bench the kid has had to learn a pretty tough position.

Its not that i think hes weak there, but more that he blows his valve early and then runs on about a 1/3 of a tank for thinking, becomes easy to beat in the tackle and robot like or simplistic in his option taking.
It will be really important that he doesnt try and win this one on his own.

Pretty sure that was the tipping point for Payten, but thats opinion only, no personal knowledge.
if the kid pulls out one 20/40 then thats more strategic thinking than i have seen all year.
