There's a youtube video about the media, and it basically says there was never a golden age of media. It's always been a shit show. But the nature of the shit show has always changed with the years, so it might look like the previous incarnation was much better.. The reality is that it was just as sad, but in a different way.

In short honest media is like the unicorn. It's corny and un-inspiring..... No one really gives a shit about what actually happens. If we did the weather man would be the most hated man in the world, with the amount of fuck ups he delivers on a weekly basis.

My angst isn't really about @NZ Herald or any mainstream media outlet using forum posts from a public internet site

It's more about the death of legitimate investigative journalism

Back in the day legit journos used to put a lot of time, effort & care into their pieces before actual publication

These days these fuckin hacks just jump online & check Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat or whatever online forum they happen to stumble across & ... Hey Presto ... Let's print it !!!

Do your "job" & do some actual boots on the ground investigative work you lazy fucks

Sensationalism is not actual news ... it's just clickbait cannon fodder for the masses & a shortcut to thinking

Usually I would agree - but the conduct of the people involved in the potential purchase of the Warriors is most definitely newsworthy.

That's fair. I should clarify. I'm not against the media showing Fale or his cohort's posts. Or even ours to give context to his statements. But I do have a problem with journalists using reactions to pad out an articile.
