Lance Hohaia 2002 2

Would you blood a young fresh half back or start backing Lance Hohia. It seems a real waste to have the Steve Price and Rubin Wiki making such solid metres just to have the halves letting the side down. The backs need more time and space also. I would be interested in what you guys would choose as coach.

1) Lance Hohaia

2) Grant Rovelli

3) Nathan Fein

4) "Fresh Blood" Haden Karena etc

My choice would be (4 Haden Karena, but You never know Hohaia could become that player I thought he was going to become

What do you think, what would you choose as the warriors coach ?

Apart from Karena I've seen what all of them can do at NRL level. None of them have really stepped up and dominated a game from start to finish.

If I had to pick I'd go with Hohaia, but I wouldn't mind Karena being given an opportunity. But is he contracted to the Warriors and if not are they even looking at him?

Lance should be given a chance or released from the warriors.its not fair to keep him in limbo/

I'm a huge fan of Lance and I believe he has the most skillful player out of all the players listed. he just needs time to settle into the role and the system and for the players to settle into his style. I'm a huge believer that if Lance played for an Australian club that played a style of game that complimented his abilities he would be a Superstar.

Have they put a contract under Karenas nose?

Rovelli - 6
Hohaia - 7
Fien - 9
Karena - 19

Lance has put himself in limbo mate.

Frankly, I don't want any player, in any club, that thinks he
is bigger than the game.

And, he is still not learning his lesson............

lance definately, they have never really given him a decent crack at half-back, and yet they still punish him because he can't play out of position. he's a half-back, and they played him at stand off and hooker. give the man a shot, can't go any worse than nathan fien.

You seem to enjoy making judgements on other peoples lives, desire to achieve and persona.
I seriously have the greatest amount (that can be expressed on an internet forum) hate for people like you.

I would like to see what Karena can do. Would be nice to see a debutant in the halves from Batercard.

bad day at the office mosh ?

what skinner said is common knowledge.

common knowledge to who?

Unless you are Lance Hohaia, his family, friends, manager or representative how can you pass judgement on his persona?

Have the Warriors officially released a press release that states that Lance Hohaia thinks he is "bigger than the game" as Skinner just posted.

Is common knowledge defaming someones persona based on hearsay??

Or should we be more mature and wait till the full story comes out?

Maybe we can ask LS, who has met Lance Hohaia and knows him well to call him by his nickname and ask him if Lance Hohaia is cocky or thinks he is bigger than the game. Or maybe from last year and in 2004 whenever Stacey scored guess who was the first person to always congratulate him?

Hate is a very strong emotion Mosh and I have rather serious
concerns for someone who gets emotional over (informed)
comments on a BB.

well a one legged friend of lances stated publicly last week on MTV that lancey baby had " attitude problems" . thats just 1 instance that i have heard this season.

i dont really care what he does when someone scores a try, that means nothing as far as his over all self esteem goes. he could sit in the corner and cry but still be happy his mate scored a try.

As a player I hold your one legged friend in high regard, but now, I dont know.
Lancey has all the talent in the world. But he needs a chance to show it. How many other players in that team have had more chances and it makes me wonder why they havent been chopped down.

too true, when i heard him say it i thought it was a bit off but it was in the group discussion thingy so maybe the mouth was put into gear before the brain was engaged.

its not a huge deal, just seems to create some strange reactions.

when the kiwis went over to pomgolia in 04 the same story kept surfacing from some very respected sports writers. maybe it was an anderson thing ??

Your last paragraph really contradicts the whole issue as that is why the debate came up. His on field performance was questioned as being "lacking" desire and that he is not putting in. So what attitude someone does show on the field does matter.

Go tell the Kiwi boys that Ruben crying at the end of the Tri-Nations didnt matter. Go tell my mate who cried with him that it didnt.

As for our friend with one leg, does he talk to Cleary or the management or did Hohaia make an effort to tell him that he had attitude problems? Is our friend with one leg a psychiatrist??

that's right, to be honest i don't give two hoots if he has an attitude problem, there is 200+ rugby league players running around every weekend with big ego's, i'd be pretty pissed off too if i was lance, infact i probably would've left well and truly by now.

Someone here tell me how an attitude problem makes you any less of a player, i know for a fact that at one point in Andrew Johns Career his ego was that big, not even team mates were aloud to talk to him at training without permission, does that mean he was shit and dropped? hell no.

Good on you lance for having self respect. go to another team and become the kiwi's no# 1. halfback

""So what attitude someone does show on the field does matter.""

and off field.

i think our one legged friend is just cut because lance would rather play top grade rugby league in the nrl, than play with hop-arounds wai-coa bay stallions. and i wouldn't want to play with Tawera's, oops, i mean the one legged mans stallions either, they're poo
