The Vodafone Warriors’ back row depth has been boosted for the 2019 NRL season following official confirmation of second rower Lachlan Burr’s two-year contract.

The 26-year-old is among a number of new faces onboard for the club’s preseason training campaign.

He joins the Vodafone Warriors after stints with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the Gold Coast Titans in the NRL while he also spent the 2017 season in England where he appeared for the Leigh Centurions and the Sheffield Eagles.

An Australian Schoolboys representative in 2010, Burr played NYC football for the Bulldogs before making his only NRL appearance for the club in 2013.

A two-season term with the Titans in 2015 and 2016 netted 23 NRL outings before his move to England.

He returned to the Bulldogs this year, helping the club to victory over Newtown in the Intrust Super Premiership title decider followed by success against Redcliffe in the National State Championship encounter on the NRL’s grand final day at ANZ Stadium. Named the Bulldogs' 2018 ISP player of the year, Burr averaged 120 metres and 24 tackles in his 23 appearances.

It was also apparent later in the match, as he gave some of the Warriors' coaching staff on the bench an earful, such was his disappointment at being spelled during the second half.

some will love the above statement. i dont and it gives me the impression hes all about himself. team comes first not how many minutes or how long you are on the park. he isnt even a superstar to command that.

Yes needs to pull his head in maybe clip around the ears to calm him to the Team first

If he did have a dummy spit in the trial ( I didn’t watch it ).
I could see why, trials are exactly that, a trial. A chance to prove to the coaches you are up to the challenge and I remember when I played a trial meant sometimes you were a little greedy or selfish to try and shine and get selected.
In a legitimate game, it was about the team and surely if guys understand that at High school professional players get it.
If not SK will kick his ass to the curb quicker than you can say boo

I don't have an opinion on Burr yet, as a player. But as far as him being annoyed or frustrated about being subbed off during the trial, I'm not at all bothered by it and in fact you could take it as a positive sign. Lets wait to see if he's put together some on field performance that demand first grade game time!

A lot of unfair comments about Burr on here. The guy is good, very good.

The only reason Burr did not Play for the Bulldogs last year was there was no cap space available for him. NRL would not allow it. Bulldogs wanted to keep Burr for 2019 - that is a fact. Burr had several NRL sides wanting to sign him, the Warriors paid very good money for Burr. As I stated elsewhere on this site, the amount of money the Warriors paid for Burr ment he will be playing for the top side this year.

Burr is a O'Sullivan inspired signing. He has a massive upside which hasnt clicked up until this stage. Its clicking now at the Warriors.

If you think Burr is shit then what do you think of Simon Mannering? Burr is identical to Mannering except he is faster and runs superior lines. Think twice because the Warriors found a better version of Mannering to replace him.

What are you smoking! A better version of Mannering! Based on what I've seen, what a load of rubbish.

Last player to carry on like Burr is a new starter for the Sharks.

I'm sure some of our boys will find a way to wilfully misunderstand his Aussie ways and they will be sneaky about it, that’s the bro culture way, the smiling assassins.
yep..that's the one bro lol..i'd say a few of the boys will put some good shots on him, just so he can stay humble & grounded lol

Did you not watch the trial games. What about Mannering makes him better than Burr?

You think you know better than Kearney, Brian Smith and O'Sullivan? What are you smoking? Stop moaning and actually watch the game!

Why do you think he is starting? cause he's shit? hahhaahhaahahahaha - have a coffee bro

TBH, I don’t think a would be starting if Ice was available/hadn’t been suspended by the club. That said, I’m looking forward to seeing how he goes.

Seriously, I watched both trial games. Nothing Burr did set the world on fire... Did he bend the line, no. Did he smash blokes in one on one tackles, no. He's average at best.

When, he captain's his country and holds a club together defensively by himself, then you can compare him to mannering, but no way is he better. That's insulting.
