All these Konrad doomsayers and comments, laughable.

So much ignorance and bs reading most of this stuff in this thread. Repetitive regurgitated rubbish.

Quite pathetic coming from Warriors fans. He's gonna do a Inu, won't last, lazy, GC lifestyle will get to him. Pathetic.

This club is so shit scared that he'd destroy us they put in a clause that says he can't play us when we face the Titans.

Pfffft who cares if we're paying his salary, just straight up scared that Konnie will waste us. Cowardly.

Haha tell 'em why you mad son.... Questionable to take people to task for not favoring someone who has let the club down so frequently during their time with us though..

I personally think that the acceptance of these standards at the club by us fans leads to a sense of tacit approval amongst the playing group which in turn could be part of the problem here.. Just my opinion though :bag:

Hmm thanks for that Budgey! Always good having you here for the inside info :)

Any idea who Long was referring to in his article when he stated "after initially agreeing to tell a uniform story to club management after being potted by the team mate, one of the players told a different tale, fearing the incident might spell the end of his career"?
My guess is one of the newbies who has more to lose.

From all accounts this caffeine drink and pills is widespread. Not saying that justifies it at all, but it is not just the Warriors problem.

Oh totally, was more meaning the fact that so many people seem to want to 'stick with' players who have let the club down repeatedly.. I am all for loyalty over most other things but as the saying goes "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me".. Or as GWB would say "fool me twice.... Won't get fooled again" :banghead:

Dont you think its more of a 'dont stick him on the field against us if you expect us to pay him to play..'

I understand someone outside of the six that went out informed the club.

Confirms my suspicions then... As per the article yesterday, someone spilled the beans about popping the pills on the night out a few weeks back in order to try save their career with us... Reading between the lines I'm taking a guess that it was either Konrad or his idiot manager, hence why the infamous five weren't in attendance for his final shindig.
I saw a bunch of players out for a meal. I assume a farewell, others in the 6 were there so assume this can be put to bed.

Fair enough.. Rest of them must have headed home/elsewhere by the time we bumped into them...

Can we put up a Bookie bet on how well Konnie will do for the rest of the year? I honestly don't think he's gonna shine, really. Just be average.

That's another way of looking at it, I guess. Still haven't been able to confirm outside nzherald and stuff whether he plays in Rd 22 or no BTW...

Graham talks about Hurrell signing
Aquis Titans CEO Graham Annesley says the signing of Konrad Hurrell and Nathan Peats in the past fortnight are further examples of the club’s progress in the past year.

Annesley also explains how the clause that ensures Hurrell won’t play against the Warriors in the round 17 clash in Auckland (but can in the round 22 game against the Warriors at Cbus Super Stadium) came about.

"That's just part of the cut and thrust of negotiations; he was contracte dto the Warriors for th enext couple of years," he said.

"It's not the first time it has happened. In fact it happened last year when Joey Leilua left the KNights to go to the Raiders, so it's part of negotiations."

"The progress has been incredible considering where we were when the NRL took over ownerships. Our commercial strength is back to where it should be, we've got great things happening in our governence, we have restructured out business, we have released our strategic plan and of course our training and administration centre at Parkwooid is under development .. and it will give us some of the best facilities in the game and help us attract players."

You're talking about the opposition winger right?

Ayshford is the best exponent of putting his support players into space as a centre that the Warriors have had for many years. He has good skills, I agree he is limited as a player, but who isn't. To be fair at his best Konrad can draw and pass well, unfortunately his best is too few and far between.

Apologies for sounding like a broken record however 2nd worst edge in the comp based in tries for and against - clearly there is something going wrong on our right edge this year. I'm not laying the blame solely at Ayshford's feet however people need to wake up to this fact. I'm not suggesting Hurrell should have stayed at our club, however there's no way he was ever part of an edge that has performed this poorly. Unfortunately for Ayshford the stats in previous seasons are just as bad.

No apologies needed - but have we got a source? I'd actually be really interested in seeing those stats across both edges versus all the other teams in the comp.
I've dragged the data together from the Rugby League Project site for a previous season. I mentioned it in the Blake Ayshford thread somewhere. This season's stats were mentioned by the SKY team on the After Match in Sunday evening.

No disrespect to you here at all - but I think the Sky Team might well have it wrong... because 2 of our top 3 try scorers this season (top three being Kata, Shaun Johnson, Ayshford) play on the right edge and have done so all season. Not to mention I think the right edge back rower and the right winger (whoever it was) have all scored tries as well. I think our right edge has outscored our left edge this season in total tries (Robson/Leuluai haven't scored many, Hoffman hasn't scored many, Kata has 8, the left winger (be it Manu/Wright etc) has a few. And I think defensively our left edge has conceded more.

Damn it, now I'm going to have to go and figure it all out! The stat just doesn't make sense (logically) on a tries for/against basis.

Edit (this is going to take some time, but I'll update it as I can)
Round 1: Against the tigers:
Left edge - scored 2 (Kata). Right edge - scored 2 (Shaun Johnson and Thompson 1 each).
Conceded: Left edge 4, (Sironen, Nofoaluma, Tedesco, Simona). Right edge 1 (Lovett). Middle 1 (Tedesco in the 80th minute). Simona's try is arguably not conceded by the left edge as he scored under the posts. But the initial break was made down the left edge so I have put it in.
After Round 1: Left edge is -2 (tries scored/against), right edge is +1.
Round 2: Broncos:
Conceded: Right edge 2 (Oates, Reed), left edge 2 (Boyd, Gillett)
Neither edge scored (Luke was the only try-scorer in the middle).
Both edges -2.
Cumulative Left edge -4, Right edge -1.
Round 3: Storm
Left edge - scored Kata and Wright, conceded Munster
Right edge - scored Lolohea, conceded Koroibete.
Left +1, Right 0.
Cumulative: Left -3, Right edge -1.
Round 4: Knights
Left: Scored Kata and Manu, conceded Gagai
Right: Scored Ayshford, Lolohea, Shaun Johnson, conceded Ross
Left +1, Right +2
Cumulative: Left -2, Right +1
Round 5: Roosters
Left: Scored Manu, Kata 2, Shaun Johnson 1 (yes on the left) Conceded SKD 2, Aubusson 1
Right: Scored Shaun Johnson, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (the break came on the right side) Conceded Taukeiaho
Left +1, Right +1
Cumulative: Left edge -1, Right edge +2
Round 6: Manly
Left: Scored Kata Conceded Trbojevic
Right: Scored Ayshford Conceded Taupau (Manly scored 3 tries in the middle)
Left 0, Right 0
Cumulative: Left edge -1, Right edge +2
Round 7: Bulldogs
Left: Scored Wright, Lolohea Conceded Perrett 2, Holland 2
Right: Scored Ayshford 2, Fusitua 1 Conceded None.
Left -2, Right +3
Cumulative: Left edge -3, Right edge +5
Round 8: Storm
Left: Scored 0 Conceded Munster, Cronk, Vunivalu 2
Right: Scored 0 Conceded Harris, Glasby (half blame should go to the middle, but I'll count it here), Koroibete
Left -4, Right -3
Cumulative: Left edge -7, Right edge +2
Round 9: Dragons
Left: Scored Allwood Conceded Faifailoa
Right: Scored Shaun Johnson Conceded Aitken
(Gubb and Robson both scored in the middle)
Left 0, Right 0
Cumulative: Left edge -7, Right edge +2
Round 10: Panthers
Left: Scored Kata, Wright Conceded Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
Right: Scored Ayshford Conceded Soward, Peachey 3 (although 1 of those came from a break down the left edge)
Left +1, Right -3
Cumulative: Left edge -6, Right edge -1
Round 11: Raiders
Left: Scored 0 Conceded Austin, Leilua
Right: Scored Shaun Johnson, Ayshford (Thompson and Ayshford butchered 2 more) Conceded Croker, Papalii, Lee
Left -2, Right -1
Cumulative: Left edge -8, Right edge -2
Summary:
Left Edge:
Scored: 16 Conceded: 24 for -8 overall
Right Edge: Scored: 16 Conceded: 18 for -2 overall

So yep, would have to say I completely disagree with the Sky Sports team in saying our right edge is the worst in the competition. Given that our left edge is significantly worse than our right! (and yes, I've just spent too much time reviewing highlights on youtube and scoring charts). Included in the right side's conceded stats are 2 questionable ones as well, being Peachey's last try in the panthers game where the defence was shot to shit because they broke down our left, the line slide across and they then had an overlap on the right; and the Glasby one in the storm game where he scored between the middle and the edge (was tough for me to make a call on whether to include it or not so I did).
