If your Joey Manu & you want to play FB why would you stay at the rooster? It’s not even about coming to the warriors but surely if your behind a guy like James Tedesco & you wanted to play FB you move on, just seems like a waste of talent (my opinion anyway)

I’m guessing loyalty above $$$ and selfishness.

We missed the boat with him but that’s life.

Caught the game late, kiwis looked pretty slick first half but put the cue in the rack a bit second half and struggled to convert their dominant field position by the looks of it the weather didn’t help. Tonga didn’t really fire a shot and get pretty dominated in the stats, thought their pack would trouble us more than they did but a little green in the backs, particularly their spine didn’t do them any favours laying a platform

Damn it was great having footy back here in NZ at Mt Smart. A second helping next week.

Imagine if the Panthers game went ahead as originally planned for Mt Smart we could of had 3 weeks of games in NZ with big crowds.

I know the club got a bit prickly with not having the first game in NZ but its a bit of a blessing in disguise. The club is in a slump and would of been up for a bit against the premiers but likely would of got a similar result to last week. The Kiwis give the fans a good result and then the Warriors come back against another poor club in a winnable game.

Great atmosphere there with the Tongans turning up in their colours and their flags.

I love watching Jerome Hughes he does the structural stuff that makes the Storm what they are but he's a footballer. He chases everything and just looks like a guy that wants to play league all of the time.

The Kiwis had some great kick returns. Manu with a big body. He was getting the ball with a lot of space between him and the defence. There was no running sideways it was all direct, I like that with fullbacks as it lessens the distance his team mates have to run back. Rapana also helped in that area.

The Tongans strength is their pack but man look at the Kiwis. Bromwhich, Fisher-Harris, NAS, Tapine and Leota.

I know Maguire wants to get back to day to day coaching but after his stint at the Tigers concentrating on the Kiwis and success there would help ease any stigma on him from the Tigers.

With Robinson not wanting an international coach I think Maguire would be asked to stop coaching the Kiwi’s. Interesting I remember Maguire saying when he became the Kiwi coach that he hoped long term someone like Stacey Jones would take over as coach, the same Stacey Jones that said he doesn’t the Warriors job but the Kiwi one. Feeling like the dominoes are falling into place.

Mate, I get the $$$ (even though he’s on $700k a year) part but selfishness, these guys have a 10 to 12 year playing window & then they’re done. To sign a contract for another 3 years (same as Tedesco) in a position that isn’t your preferred position & to be 29 when you come off that contract isn’t a smart move in my mind but you could be right, loyalty all the way!!

Hope everyone who was in the West stand at the game at full time are all OK. Absolute shocking scenes at the end with glass bottles and full beer cans flying down from the top bays. Ended up with a glass bottle to the back of the head myself and the young girl next to me with glass in her cheek.

Is that what Taumalolo was talking about when he said behave in his after match comments? Disgraceful.

Madge is a good coach when he's got the troops to carry out his forward dominance game plans, maybe he'd have more luck turning our pack of forwards into a top 8 team than Wests. Also, he might be the only option left, which should bump him up the list.

No paper cups?

What muppets are organising these events??

Oh, I forgot this is the Warrriors.

Could have been. Everyone was running and diving into the corporate boxes to get out of the way.

Someone even got in with fireworks and let them off, so security was non-existent at the game.

Is Madge now in the Warriors sights in some capacity?
I didn't think so until I saw him being interviewed this week. He was asked about the Warriors and played coy, giving double speak. He is tied up with the Kiwis for the rest of the season so it may not be announced yet.
