Hey guys

I thought I'd start up this thread to create discussion over the next few months. I know it seems far away but I'm already excited for this series.

You can't understate the power of a 3 match series. The ability it has to build interest as there is always redemption for the losing team in the second match and the potentially nail biting 3rd match creates sporting theatre. This I feel is what origin draws most of it s appeal on the simple maths that provides a square up and an ultimate winner in game 3.

Watching the nba finals you get to see adjustments made from the first game and you get to see the coaching chess match. With a bigger sample size you get to see which team truely is better which will define the kiwis as truely the best team in the world or as england as an up and coming powerhouse.

This is a thread for any news, updates, crowds etc on the upcoming series.

Selector

Looking forward to this test series. Some interesting selection decisions to be made by Kearney and co. Will Marshall and JWH be selected both have apparently rang Kearney and had 'clear the air' talks. On their current form will they be welcome back into the fold.

With Kearney's preference to have a bench hooker will Kearney use Lewis Brown in that position. Or will we see a young gun like Kodi Nikorima or Manaia Cherrington get a chance? Or even perhaps Havilii?

Who else will be selected for their first Kiwis tour?

K Nikorima. Simona. Ma'u. Rona. Taukeiaho. Will DZW finally get to make his Kiwis debut.

Who will get a recall?
Glenn. Kasiano. Soliola, Blair.

A test series. What a rare and wonderful beast!

The last one was the ill fated English tour of 2007 with that train wreck of a coach Kemble, was it not?

The forthcoming series is guaranteed to be an improvement. We hope.

Looking forward to this series.

Hopefully after the world cup semi final they draw good crowds.

The Tri Series or Four Nations have been good but this will be a bit refreshing seeing the same two teams test each other out for 3 weeks.

Yeah as mentioned we haven't seen as international test series by any team since 2007. This could be the series to re-ingite discussions with Aussie and England on bringing back the 3 test series.

i don't know why the super league bosses insist on playing a game in London,be one big empty stadium, not a good look for the code, the games should all be placed in the heartland, gods country(yorkshire) or Lancaster land of the pie eaters

Great thread Brother Faisal

It's definitely still a fair while to wait, but I too am amped up for this test series, especially since international footy is too few & far between for my liking & a three match test series has essentially become an endangered species in recent times

One of my favorite rugby league memories as a kid was getting up in the middle of the night to watch the mighty Kiwis take on Great Britain, good to see they've included a game against one of the club sides in the itinerary as well

Here's hoping the boys can banish the horrible memories of the ill fated 2007 series once & for all :D

I'd pick all the players you mentioned except Havili. Won't get any better chance to blood the next tier of kiwi and strengthen our squad.

Is Simona eligible for us?

You've whetted my appetite bro :)

No worries, good to see a decent amount of interest on the topic. Was hoping to make this as much a discussion about English players as well as our kiwi boys, I suppose the more we familiarise ourselves with their team, strengths and weaknesses, the more investment we have at the end of the year to watch. i'll make an effort to add news updates, info on individual players from the super league for us to keep an eye on but if anyone else has info on their squad let us know.

How awesome would a 3 match test series be against ozzie!!! One day maybe
This hopefully re-ignites interest in the format. If we send our best, no pills involved, they have all their stars then we can have one of the greatest spectacles of modern day rugby league.

Theres no greater challenge then 3 matches of international footy away from home in an hostile environment. To be honest the crowds their have more impact then the ones in aussies. We will have to fight the waves of emotion that England will draw from their crowd and that will test our boys, No matter what they say with the no.1 ranking and all, if we can pull off an away test series win in england we without dispute are the best.
