Lets have an abo vs maori vs island test series.

That would be just awesome.

White people not allowed because we dont celebrate white heritage.

Actually maybe we can have a separate proud to be kiwi vs proud to be Australian test series.... who wants to play?

Shit bro if Bruce sees this he'll have a stroke. Then we'll never get him to open his wallet and bail out the club

In essence the game has been dumbed down, the NRL are looking for athletes more than footballers

well the way the tonga play would be considered dumb by those who view completion rates, less errors dont offload etc. but its an entertaining brand of footy that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The aussies have clocked the game of league and have a system and players that cant be broken but we arent talking about their games because although they are clinically beautiful they are still boring, tonga, fiji, lebanon, england are bringing more passion, risk and uncontrolled rage but it comes off on the screen as exciting and adventurous.

Unfortunately the aussie system is the most unbeatable and also the most boring because we all know how the try will be manufactured, with block plays and a try to the corner for holmes. how many times did holmes score off the same play, its undefendable because of the rules and the inability physically and mentally to defend these plays and their variants for 80mins but this is what makes it boring but you have to beat this system somehow to earn the right to say our play can beat the robotic precision and then hopefully we will get back to passion, but i think robotics and wrestling is here to stay unfortunately unless there are some rule changes that give more risk reward opportunities that can counter the grind.

Those same Tongan players who excelled in WC will go back to been robots once they get back to NRL land.
I reckon it’s the fear of not losing than trying to win which drives this thinking

This has been happening for a number of years now in the nrl, have you watched the warriors, they are playing with fear and are controlled so much, at least a few years ago we played to win. The last 7mins of the test last week reminded me of when we came back against the bulldogs to tie it at 24-all if only stacey hadnt had missed that sitter right in front of the posts. but the same feeling, it was the warriors of old and its what i miss about league, at least tonga brought back that passion for me.

What ticks me off is not that it didnt work but the fact that any person with an ounce of common sense could tell you it wasnt going to work.

I half wonder if its some political stunt because i refuse to believe people in such high positions can be that stupid.

They should have propaganda about kiwi pride. Everything that makes NZ great as a national. Embrace the positive. Not some stupid seige mentality.
All David Kidwells fault. From the Marae sleep over to the Maori design on the jersey to the Te Iwi Kiwi slogan the Maori thing was overdone. Nobody but Maoris identify being a NZer as participating in Tikanga Maori. Proudly sing the Maori part of the NZ anthem and do the haka but that's more than enough.

The Key wasn't the We for DK. His key was Maori. No wonder they lost when half the team isn't included...

You only have to watch the 6 o'clock on Waitangi Day to see how far this nation has come...

Can you name a more inclusive and harmonious country, aside from racially homogeneous societies like Japan and Tonga?

Also Mount, who would win if Tonga invaded NZ and enslaved us like the Samoans. I doubt anyone could stop them, especially if they have JT.

Just in case:

Waitangi has become a showpiece for some Ngapuhi hotheads, nothing more. It is sad because the Ngapuhi were not the only tribe to sign the treaty.

My memory tells me the shit hit the fan over land the Maori had allowed government and councils to use which was being taken permanently e.g. Raglan Golf Course and Bastion Point. It took a lot of energy to get action over that and it led to a lot of land settlement, especially for the Tainui.

A key thing for me is that in citizenship ceremonies there is always a kaumatua to welcome the people on the part of the tangata whenua.

Maori might be a minority, but they are still tangata whenua and Maoritanga and Te Reo need to be at least respected if not embraced.

Bro town and Laughing with samoans.
Maori and island brothers laughing and talking about it ALL DAY.
Non maori / island brother - "' I DID NOT GET IT"'
In a way , being involved with youth in the social sector.
I have personally seen that non maori / island people connect with cultures that are not homegrown.
eg . Buddism and anything spiritually and enlightening .

Cant name a full non maori / island team from this era , have to name it from the 90s to now.

1- Matthew Ridge 2- Mark Ellis 3- Craig Innes 4- Jarrod McCracken 5- Matt Duffie 6- Kieron Foran 7- Gary Freeman 8-Brent Todd 9- Richard Swain
10- Grant Young 11- Gary Mercer 12- Brent Stuart 13- Simon Mannering 14- Nathan Fien 15- Slade Griffin 16- Jake McIllwrick 17 Luke Covell

Not a bad side besides the bench , love the centers , feel free to add.
Better find another second rower, Gary Mercer is Maori. Was gonna say Craig Smith but remembered him playing for the Maori.
Come to think of it, don't let the skin colour fool you, there could be Maori blood flowing through a few more of these guys.

Mate 0.1% maori because your great great great great aunties cousins son was maori doesnt make you maori when 99.9% of your blood is english kiwi raised and born

And where is the maori in a name like Craig Smith????

Surely the jersey design would've been a marketing angle rather than a Kidwell idea.
It replicated players Tatts apparently so it wouldn't have been strictly Maori.
Just on that, wish they'd just leave the Kiwi jersey the same basic classic design, like the Aussies do.

Hmm, so what percentage is enough to consider yourself Maori?
And while we're talking percentages, any idea what percentage Samoan Josh McGuire is?
What about Ashton Sims? Does he have enough Fijian in him to play for Fiji?

Tonbridge (Swanley)

Rangi Chase just got two year ban for testing positive to cocaine. With rumours of those two taking coke ASADA should have been at their door next morning with a cup to piss in. Same goes for Mitchell Pearce who Roosters whisked off to rehab in Bali...
i thought you get three strikes and maybe the "b" sample was clean. don't they get tested twice if the first one is a hit?

Surely the international body still checks birth certs and family trees. Or can you just feel Maori or Tongan.

To vote as a Maori all you need to do is feel Maori, no proof, no percentage, no family tree, don't even need to identify as Maori, just feel.
