Anyone think Kidwell was having a dig at Kearney when he paused for gravitas and said "we want to play a Kiwis style of play" he reiterated it a bit later on too.
Kidwell paused more in his talking today than Dominic Bowden during and entire season of X Factor!!
Sounded like a retard who could only speak sentences of 3 or 4 words before stopping and pausing!!
Having Adam Blair on a cellphone connected to massive speaker was a nice touch too

Always found blokes that make big speeches with a lisp quite comical, Kidwell falls into that category. Amusing how every time he worked himself into one of these little motivational speeches the media was like "yeah, yeah David .... now back to Taumalolo" lol, poor bastard had probably been up all night rehearsing.

I probably care more now than I did before.

Obviously it's a diminished side now but if you go through it and pick out the quality (there will be varying opinions of course) I can still come up with 9-10 players, if we can get a handful of others playing above themselves we'll still get beaten by the Kangaroos but we can show were still a power despite the defections.

With the exception of Kieran Foran, Jason Taumalolo and the coke boys the Kiwis still have a very strong side. Don't see them bothering the Kangaroos but they should still top their draw. The defections should actually act as a huge motivator as the remaining players look to restore mana back to the jersey. The major weakness is David Kidwell...

Agree, Kidwell was his typical awkward self. Passion, passion passion... Nothing else. Cringeworthy.

Just watched the Kiwis world cup doco and that team was a hell of a lot poorer than the current squad selected. Think the Kiwis are the best placed of the teams to upset the Kangaroos.

Just please don't have Kidwell giving the pre game speech. "Boys the key is the we".

Last thing we want is Packer doing this again.

The team I would like to see:
  1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
  2. Dallin Watene Zelezniak
  3. Dean Whare
  4. Brad Takairangi
  5. Jordan Rapana
  6. Kodi Nikorima
  7. Shaun Johnson
  8. Adam Blair
  9. Thomas Leuluai
  10. Martin Taupau
  11. Simon Mannering
  12. Joseph Tapine
  13. Isaac Liu

  14. Danny Levi
  15. Russell Packer
  16. Addin Fonua-Blake
  17. Nelson Asofa-Solomona
Reserves: Jason Nightingale, Gerard Beale, Peta Hiku, Te Maire Martin, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Kenny Bromwich, Elijah Taylor

I think martin may just edge nikorima in my opinion. Both not ideal but Martin can create some solo tries and broken play attack.

Like this team. However I expect Kenny Bromwich to be selected as back up hooker unfortunately.

I hope you are right Welly, because if you are about Kidwell being the weakness that is no problem, he is only putting out the cones and making press releases. I have a lot of faith in Brian Smith, if I were Taumalolo or any of the other Tongan rebels I would hope Smith does not stay involved with the Kiwis. I have seen far less experienced Kiwi sides deal to the Australians, and this could be an interesting series, especially against Tonga.

What is the name of the doco? Would like to see it.
