because like most successful business men, he's probably not home, therefore deemed an absent father....that's my guess.
I think it was Mr.Brownstone posted a polite explanation suggesting it was a bit more complicated than that. From what I saw he is a very intelligent guy and obviously does care about his kids.

Don’t think I would have posted on that specifically because I don’t know anything about the situation.

Somebody posted a very carefully worded explanation about the family circumstance. The bottom line is Foran is a very intelligent guy and Air NZ must be over the moon to recruit him. I cannot think of any NRL example to match the coup, getting Bennett with Bellamy to assist wouldn't go near.

He obviously pushed his body too hard in the Manly years. I remember Des saying he respects him for putting his body on the line every time but his body can't sustain it. On top of his mental health issues it might be time for him to pull the pin. Or if he does come back maybe not as a marquee player (as he is worth nowhere near $1m any more) or head to super league for a couple of years where there will be less pressure. Surely Dogs will be able to get back most of the cap space.

Manly wanted to keep him but they had earned themselves a bad rep at the time for not honoring third party deals and his management team didn’t trust them to uphold their end of the bargain.

if I recall that was one of the issues he had at Parra before injury and mental health issues raised its head.

217. KIERAN FORAN

Kieran Foran joined us in 2017 on a one year contract amidst a turbulent time in his personal life. On 17 May 2017 he signed a two year contract with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs to reunite with coach Des Hasler. Foran played 17 games for the Warriors.

In 2018 the Bulldogs tried to medically retire Foran to free up cap space but instead extended his contract for an extra year.

Foran returned to his first club the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles on a two year contract in 2021 after being told his services would no longer be required at the Bulldogs.

In May 2022 the Gold Coast Titans announced that they had secured Forans services for the 2023 and 2024 season...

The Gold Coast Titans have landed a marquee signing, with 22-Test playmaker, Kieran Foran to head to Queensland from next season.

Foran will join the Titans for seasons 2023 and 2024 and add experience and depth to the youthful Titans spine.

Foran has played 246 NRL games, primarily for the Manly Sea Eagles, and won won a Premierships in 2011 with the club.

Known for his strong running game and slick ballplaying, Foran has been among the top echelon of five-eighths since his debut in 2009.

Titans Head Coach Justin Holbrook said Foran will add another element to his young side.
“Kieran brings a wealth of experience to our squad and this will be invaluable for not just the halves, but the whole team,” Holbrook said.

“He is a world class player who has played in big matches and he will help bring along the young halves in our squad, as well as provide immediate impact on the field from next year.
“We know we have some great Gold Coast juniors coming through and Kieran will support that transition over the coming seasons.”

Foran has played nine games in season 2022, averaging 89 run metres, creating five try assists and seven line break assists, while scoring two tries himself.
